Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 22

Odette used to have a silver tongue, and Blythe had quite liked her, pushing Enoch to marry her. Now, she felt somewhat relieved they hadn't brought that woman into the family.

"No need." Enoch said.

"Enoch..." Blythe started.

Cutting her off, Enoch knew what his mother wanted to say. "I've made my decision about getting married. We'll have someone come over this afternoon to sort out the paperwork."

"What? The paperwork? With whom?" Blythe was taken aback. Her plan to persuade her son dissipated with his words.

Enoch's gaze landed on Drusilla. "Her."

Blythe was dumbstruck, her eyes wide as she glanced at Drusilla.

Drusilla felt the weight of Blythe's gaze and squirmed a bit. She understood quite well that, if she were Blythe, she wouldn't have accepted her son marrying a woman he just met, divorced, and with two kids either!

Fortunately, her marriage to Enoch was only temporary. Drusilla began, "Mrs..."

Before she could clarify and ease Blythe's mind about her and Enoch not truly being together, Blythe sighed and said, "Well, alright then. I've got no demands anymore, as long as you’ve got a wife. As long as you're willing to marry, that's fine by me."

Drusilla was speechless.

Madam, aren't you being a bit too casual? Isn't this the moment you're supposed to put up a fight and throw millions at me to leave your son? And you just agreed like that?

Drusilla tried again, "Mrs. Taylor, actually I..."

Enoch interjected, "Actually, she's Leander's daughter."

Drusilla was flustered. "Absolutely not! I’ve got no interest in you at all, let along wanting your children!”

Really, who did he think he was, a king? She had Colton and Cormac, and they were more than enough for her!

Enoch, seeing her earnestness, smirked, "Playing hard-to-get won't work on me."

"Forget it, I'm not going through with this marriage." Drusilla had reached her limit!

Was his ego that inflated, always imagining others harboring desires for him?

Enoch simply said, "I knew you weren't any different from Odette."

Drusilla clenched her teeth in frustration, glaring at the man. If she wasn't in need of his help, she'd have slapped him already.
