But now...
It seemed like Enoch had changed.
Oberon couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Was it that whole "new wife, no need for old friends" deal?
Out with the old, in with the new, as they say.
...
Drusilla went to grab a glass of water, took a little break, and glanced over at Colton and Cormac, who were deeply engrossed in their lesson. Those two were really putting in the effort.
Blythe was standing to the side, watching the kids. When she walked by, Blythe gave her a look but then quickly diverted her gaze.
Looking at Blythe, who was giving her all for those kids, Drusilla said, "You're doing a great job."
"It's my grandkids we're talking about. It's my business, not yours!" Blythe replied, her tone ice-cold.
Drusilla...""
She pursed her lips, finding the situation somewhat amusing before heading back to Enoch's room.
Enoch had taken a shower and changed his clothes, his previous outfit soaked with sweat.
With Oberon absent, Drusilla approached Enoch, wanting to comfort him, "Don't be too hard on yourself. These things take time, don't lose hope."
No sooner had she finished speaking than Enoch pulled her towards him, making her sit in front of him.
Seeing his gaze, Drusilla became wary. He had a habit of pulling her close suddenly, usually with less-than-honorable intentions.
She crossed her arms, "I was just saying. You're not actually going to do something, are you? You're not even fully recovered. Wishful thinking!"
A suppressed smile lingered in Enoch's eyes, "Scared, are we? You weren't so scared when you were talking."
"It was to encourage you, to challenge yourself. Also, to ease off some of that tension. See, it worked, didn't it?"
