Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 7

Lilith had that innocent look about her, as if she hadn't been around the block even once. Drusilla could see a bit of her younger self in Lilith, like a mirror reflecting back her own naivety from the days when Harlan had her dancing to his tunes.

Hearing Drusilla's words, Harlan's expression hardened.

Was she threatening him?

Bring it on!

Clueless about the undercurrents, Lilith turned to Harlan. "Let's head in, shall we? Grandma's waiting for us."

Wasting time over someone who's basically a stranger felt utterly pointless to her.

Following Lilith's lead, Harlan walked into the house.

When Cybele caught up with the situation, she glanced at Drusilla and said, "You might as well head back home then."

"Alright."

Shortly after 6:00 PM, after having dinner at home with Verena and accompanying Colton and Cormac, Drusilla returned to the Taylor family's residence. She expected Harlan and the others to have left, but as soon as she entered the courtyard, she saw Harlan.

Seeing her return, Harlan was flabbergasted. He marched over, grabbing her arm and pulling her behind a decorative boulder. "You've lost your mind, haven't you?"

Caught off guard by his sudden aggression, Drusilla winced in pain, nearly mistaking him for some sort of mugger. She retorted, "Are you fucking insane?"

Not being physically strong, especially compared to a man, and having a low tolerance for pain, his rough handling felt like her skin was tearing apart.

Harlan warned, "Just leave! If you try to mess up my marriage with Lilith, I won't let you off easily."

"Oh, scared now?" Drusilla taunted. "If you are scared then give me back my house. You owe me that much. It's not like you're short on properties now. Me and the kids need a place to live."

Currently, Drusilla and her children were renting, and the monthly payments were a significant burden. Getting her house back would ease their financial strain considerably. She truly loathed the man who once took everything from her, even her home.

"That's not happening!" Harlan refused.

Though he no longer needed the house, giving it to Drusilla would be like admitting his past wrongs. He couldn't afford to explain that to Lilith.

Drusilla concluded, "Then brace yourself for a divorce because if I can't have a good life, neither can you."
