Watch Me Win Alpha (Olivia and Ethan) novel Chapter 377

**TITLE: Alpha Novel 377**
**Chapter 377**

Stanley raised his hand instinctively, the relentless sun above casting a blinding glare that made him squint. “I grew up with Polin,” he murmured, his voice barely breaking through the weight of the moment, as if he were sharing a sacred truth. “Back then, I knew her as Polaris. Her mother worked as our family’s maid. They moved into our home, and Polin and I spent our childhood together.” A wave of warmth washed over him, flooding his cheeks with a bittersweet nostalgia, as he diverted his gaze down to the worn-out shoes that had carried him through so many memories. “We were incredibly close, almost like siblings,” he continued, the memories flooding back—sun-drenched days filled with laughter and shared secrets. “Just a few days ago, I ran into Olivia and her parents at the grocery store, and the moment I saw her, I recognized her instantly.”

Yet, he held back the detail that Polin had acted as if she didn’t recognize him. That was a truth he felt was better kept under wraps, far from Alexander’s scrutiny. After all, why burden him with such a painful revelation? Still, there was a strange sense of relief in voicing his past, as if shedding a heavy cloak that had long weighed him down.

Alexander narrowed his eyes, his expression shifting as he processed the implications of Stanley’s revelation. “When you got older, did you and Polin…?” His voice trailed off, leaving the unspoken question lingering in the air, thick with tension.

Stanley scrunched his nose at the insinuation, a wave of distaste washing over him. “No. Never. She was like a sister to me. We grew up together, just like siblings do.” The words came out with a firm conviction, as if he were trying to convince himself as much as Alexander.

“Then why would you drive an hour just to see an old friend?” Alexander asked, crossing his arms defensively, his skepticism palpable. “That seems a bit odd, don’t you think?”

A lump formed in Stanley’s throat, the weight of unspoken thoughts pressing down on him like a leaden weight. He hesitated, reluctant to voice the conspiracy that churned within his mind. The last thing he wanted was for Richard and Alexander to think he had lost his grip on reality. The mere thought of Alexander sharing his doubts with his father sent a chill down his spine.

“Come on, you can trust me,” Alexander urged, sensing the hesitation that clouded Stanley’s expression, his tone softening just a touch.

With a resigned sigh, Stanley finally found his voice. “You remember how my late wife was pregnant when she tragically passed away in that car crash?”

Alexander’s expression froze, his eyes widening slightly as the gravity of the moment settled between them. “Yes…?”

“Well, Olivia bears an uncanny resemblance to my late wife. Don’t you think so? You’ve met her,” Stanley said, his voice trembling with a mix of hope and fear, the words spilling out before he could fully comprehend their weight.

Alexander frowned, skepticism etched across his features, his brow furrowing in disbelief. “You can’t be serious.”

“Just think about it,” Stanley pressed, urgency creeping into his tone. “Olivia doesn’t look like her parents at all, and I knew Polin very well when we were children…” His heart raced, the desperation of his plea hanging in the air like a fragile thread.

Alexander snorted dismissively, shaking his head. “If that’s all the evidence you have, it’s hardly compelling.”

Stanley’s shoulders sagged, the weight of doubt settling heavily upon him. “I know,” he admitted softly, the regret evident in his voice like a bitter aftertaste. “But I have so many regrets from that time in my life. I wasn’t the best husband to my late wife. I was envious of your father for having a son to carry on his legacy.” Guilt churned in his stomach, sour and unrelenting. “I might have said things to my late wife that I deeply regret.”
