Chapter 30 Chapter 30
## Chapter 30: All Thanks to Camren
So, Skylar’s words really put a seed of doubt in Camren’s mind, huh?
Camren wasn’t asking, but was he still suspicious of Britney’s intentions for marrying him? Was he still convinced that things were messy between her and Ryan? Britney felt an unfamiliar pang of sadness in her
chest.
She really wanted to clear things up with Camren, so she waited for him in the living room. But she waited and waited, and when he didn’t show, she eventually dozed off.
When she woke up, she was in the master bed, but Camren had already left for work. That’s when Britney knew for sure he was avoiding her.
Britney let out a long sigh as she held her phone.
“Britney, I honestly don’t think Camren’s the type to be petty,” Amaya’s voice buzzed loudly through the phone. She was clearly busy, but her tone was anything but dismissive. “Any normal guy would feel weird seeing his wife all tangled up with another man.”
“He hasn’t yelled at you, he hasn’t been unfair to you. He’s just cooling off. A guy like that is way better than
most.”
“I think Camren genuinely cares about you. Why don’t you be a little bolder?”
“Bolder?”
“Yeah!” Amaya’s noisy background suddenly went quiet, then she lowered her voice. “Couples fight, but they always make up. No matter how big the problem, a little bedroom action always fixes it.”
“Plus, our Britney is gorgeous, with an amazing figure. Just a little flirting, and she’ll make Camren forget all his worries.”
“Wanna go lingerie shopping with me?”
Lingerie?
At Amaya’s suggestion, Britney’s mind flashed back to the wedding gift Nelson had given her, and she couldn’t help but twitch her lips. She realized Amaya’s line of thinking was pretty similar to Nelson’s.
But Britney didn’t think that approach suited her.
Amaya was still trying to convince her. “Nothing speaks louder than actions, you know?”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Alright, if you need me to go lingerie shopping with you, just hit me up!”

Chapter 30
Britney hung up and opened a drawer, pulling out a brocade box.
Inside were cufflinks she had made for Camren. They were set with green gemstones, and the base was crafted using an ancient enamel filigree technique, giving them a rich, understated color that looked both elegant and profound.
She thought they were perfect for Camren, but she hadn’t had a chance to give them to him after she finished
them.
Amaya wasn’t entirely wrong. At the very least, Britney could be more proactive.
After steeling her resolve, Britney quickly changed, placed the brocade box in her bag, and prepared to leave.
“Ma’am, where are you going? Should I get the car ready for you?” Albert asked.
“To Cauldron Group,” Britney replied with a smile.
Albert paused, then beamed. “Alright, alright, I’ll get the car for you right away, ma’am!”
Though the staff at Veylin Manor didn’t know exactly what was going on between Britney and Camren, they could sense the subtle shift in their relationship, which had also cast a slight pall over the manor’s
atmosphere.
Albert had practically watched Camren grow up. He knew that as long as Britney was willing to butter Camren up, he’d be thrilled.
When Britney arrived at Cauldron Group, the front desk stopped her. “Excuse me, do you have an appointment?”
Britney shook her head.
“Then you can’t go to the top floor,” the receptionist said, neither arrogant nor submissive. “Or you could call someone from the CEO’s office and ask them to come down and get you.”
“I…” Britney found herself in a tough spot. She realized she didn’t have the number for *any* assistant in the CEO’s office. “Okay.”
Britney awkwardly called Camren directly, but he didn’t pick up. She hung up, feeling a bit embarrassed. The receptionist maintained her smile. “Would you like to wait here, or perhaps come back another day?”
“Sis–in–law!” Just as Britney was feeling stumped, she heard a familiar voice. She turned and saw Ethan emerging from the exclusive elevator.
“You here to see Camren?”
“Yep.”
“Camren’s not at the company,” Ethan said, checking his watch. “He has an
evening event to attend, so he

should be at the venue by now.”
“Really?” Britney clutched her bag strap tightly. “Then I’ll just…”
“I’ll take you,” Ethan offered with a smile. “I got an invite too, actually.”
“Wouldn’t that be a hassle?” Britney tried to decline. “You probably weren’t planning on going, right?”
“Nah,” Ethan admitted honestly. “I wasn’t, but if you’re going, Sis–in–law, then it’s totally worth it.”
“Oh…” Britney was still a bit hesitant.
” car. coel al
“Let’s go,” Ethan said, already leading her to his car.
Sitting together in the back, Britney couldn’t help but feel a little self–conscious. If it weren’t for Camren, she probably wouldn’t ever have the chance to be around someone like Ethan.
“What’s on your mind, Sis–in–law?” Ethan handed her a bottle of warm water.
Britney shook her head. “It’s just… some things are so strange. I never imagined I’d be riding in a car with you
