Chapter 67 No More Silence
Amelia drank some water and set the cup down.

Lillian looked at Jeremy. He was handsome. A green jealousy rose in her. She raised her voice on purpose. “Hey, handsome. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. That woman used to flirt a lot at school. She broke up other people’s relationships. I even heard that when she lived out in the mountains, she had several kids with different men.”
Amelia showed no reaction. Jeremy smiled a little, but his eyes glittered with ice.
“That’s fine,” he said. “I like women like that. It means they’re charming.”
Amelia shot him an annoyed look. What nonsense.
“Are you out of your mind? You actually like a woman with such a bad reputation?” Lillian blurted, her face full of disbelief.
Jeremy only nodded, his brow lifting casually. “You’re right. I’m out of my mind. But Amelia is a doctor and she already cured me.”
Amelia almost choked on her water.
She shot Jeremy an angry look. How could he say whatever came into his head like that?
The others looked at each other.
They thought Jeremy was crazy. Or rich and stupid.
“Sir, I heard Amelia was kicked out of the Nygard family. She has no money and no family now. She’s just looking for a sucker. Don’t get tricked,” Lillian warned, pretending to care.
“I’m ordinary. I just have money. I like spending it on her,” Jeremy said on purpose.
He glanced at Amelia and caught her rolling her eyes.
He laughed at that.
But when he faced those people, his patience started to fray.
Were they so bored they had nothing better to do?
Lillian was left speechless, her face shifting from pale to flushed.
She never imagined that the man in front of her, so aloof and refined, would say something like that.

Who in the right mind these days would rush to play the fool for someone else?
Amelia was so lucky to meet such a striking, wealthy man.
His presence was powerful, commanding the room. Even the dishes on the table were all the restaurant’s specialties, and the bill would easily run into the thousands.
He was not someone to take lightly.
Lillian grew more jealous.
Amelia annoyed her more and more.
Clifford could not help but speak. “Sir, you might not know, but Amelia-”
This was the Amelia they knew?
