Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 116

A sudden, indescribable panic gripped Zebulon.

Could it be that his relationship with Naomi, like these plants, would wither and die now that she no longer nurtured it with her care and affection?

Zebulon thought back and was shocked to realize he had never actually done anything for Naomi.

It had always been Naomi giving, and him taking her affection for granted, even complaining to others about how annoying she was. But now that it was all gone, he found he couldn’t get used to it.

Zebulon tried to reason with himself. Maybe he should just cut Naomi some slack.

She was a girl, after all.

He quickly convinced himself.

Feeling pleased with his decision, he went to bed.

The next morning, Zebulon ordered Naomi’s favorite breakfast and went straight to her dormitory.

As soon as Naomi and Patricia came downstairs, they saw Zebulon standing there, holding breakfast.

Patricia let out an audible “tsk.”

“What’s this new act?”

Naomi’s brow furrowed as well. Recalling all the messages Zebulon had sent yesterday, she walked over with a weary look on her face.

“What are you doing here?”

Zebulon, sporting dark circles under his eyes, held out the breakfast to her.

“Breakfast. Eat it while it’s hot.”

He pushed the food into her hands, then turned and ran off.

He was gone so quickly it was as if he’d never been there at all.

Naomi stared at his retreating back, at a loss for words.

The breakfast in her arms was still warm, and it was from her favorite cafe. A complex emotion flickered in her eyes.

Patricia looked utterly perplexed. “What was that? A day late and a dollar short?”
