Someone asked curiously, but Jacob quickly grabbed his arm and covered his mouth.
Lennon's steps faltered for a second before he said softly, "I'm just going to check outside."
He walked off quickly without waiting for a reply.
The man looked utterly confused. "Wait, why does the boss seem like he's in such a hurry?"
Jacob tapped the man's head, exasperated. "I swear, you can be so dense. Didn't you notice someone is missing today? Of course the boss is anxious to see if she's arrived yet."
The man looked around and was about to say that everyone from the studio was there, but then a name popped into his head, and his eyes lit up. "You mean Naomi?"
"Oh yeah, why isn't Naomi here yet?"
Jacob gave him a look that screamed, "You're hopeless for only figuring that out now."
They had noticed it when they first arrived. The moment their boss saw Naomi wasn't with them, his expression had flickered.
They had thought he might just cancel the party then and there, but to their surprise, he had been patient.
Everyone was incredibly touched. It meant their boss still cared about his employees.
"She should be here soon. Steven sent her the location a while ago, and she said she was on her way."
"Great! Does that mean we can have cake soon?"
Jacob stared at the person in disbelief. "So, you just came for the cake?"
"Huh? What else would I be here for?"
Jacob was speechless. He shouldn't have even asked.
It was true what they said about coders—completely clueless when it came to romance.
Jacob left the man and went to gossip about the potential couple with others.
Just as everyone was chatting animatedly, Lennon returned, radiating a frosty aura.
"You guys have fun."
He grabbed his car keys and started to leave.
