Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 130

A self-deprecating smile touched Lennon's lips.

He blamed himself. He had never been one for flashy birthday parties. But he remembered she hadn't had a good time at the last team outing, so he used his birthday as an excuse to get everyone together again.

Unfortunately, the person he was waiting for never came.

Lennon took a deep breath, pushing down the heavy feeling in his chest. Remembering his team was still back at the villa, he couldn't bring himself to just abandon them.

As he drove up to the villa's entrance, Lennon saw someone peeking around nervously.

When the car approached, the person jumped like a startled deer, frantically looking for a place to hide.

Lennon hadn't paid much attention at first, but a glimpse from the corner of his eye made him freeze.

"Naomi?"

He slammed on the brakes, and the car glided to a stop in front of her. Naomi looked up at the driver's seat, flustered.

The window rolled down, revealing Lennon's perfectly sculpted face.

"Lennon..."

Naomi's voice was small, her face etched with embarrassment.

A flicker of a smile crossed Lennon's eyes but vanished just as quickly. He parked the car properly and got out.

"Why didn't you go inside?"

Naomi stammered, "I, uh, I texted them, but they must be busy having fun. No one replied, so I wasn't sure if this was the right villa."

Lennon raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Did you see any other villas?"

This was the only villa on the entire mountain.

Then something occurred to Lennon, and his gaze sharpened on Naomi. "How did you get here?"

She hadn't driven. Did her family's driver bring her?

At his question, Naomi's eyes lit up as if she remembered something. "I snuck over."

"My mom wanted me to go to Zebulon's party, but I didn't want to. I just dropped off his gift and came here."
