Naomi had been worried that things would be difficult after agreeing to get back together with Zebulon.
But she was surprised to find that their current arrangement was actually her ideal way of life.
They'd say hi when they saw each other on campus and occasionally grab a meal together.
Zebulon no longer clung to her, only putting on an act when they had to face their parents.
Even Patricia commented on how much Zebulon and his friends had changed.
“If Zebulon and his crew had been like this from the start, I never would have tried to stop you from being with him.”
Patricia smacked her lips, feeling a sense of disillusionment.
“Seriously, what’s gotten into them? Have they been possessed?”
“Maybe they were just bitter before,” Naomi said lightly.
Someone who had always been at the bottom of their social circle suddenly wanted to cut ties. How could the pride of these spoiled rich heirs possibly stand it?
But now that Naomi had agreed to hang out with them again, they naturally stopped pestering her.
It was like a toy—you want it desperately when you can't have it, but once you get it, you're bored in a few days.
“Wow, that’s just disgusting,” Patricia said, completely unable to grasp their mindset.
Naomi didn't bother trying to make her understand.
She had other things on her mind.
“So, you’re telling me you haven’t seen Lennon at work at all lately?”
Patricia gave Naomi a teasing look, seeing the worry on her friend's face. “Naomi, don’t you think you’re acting a little strange right now?”
Naomi raised an eyebrow, not quite catching her meaning.
“Strange how?”
“Look at you,” Patricia said. “It’s not like you and Zebulon haven’t fought before, right? And even though it was always him giving you the silent treatment, you would just get upset and cry. You were never this torn up about it.”
“But just because Lennon hasn’t been at the studio, you’re this miserable. You really want to see him, don’t you?”
