Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 189

Zebulon was left speechless.

Of course, he knew what he had done in the past.

But he had always believed that Naomi would never cause trouble for him.

She loved him so much, so what was a little hurt feeling here and there?

Besides, Zebulon had always found Naomi's affection for him to be bafflingly intense. He couldn't help but feel her love was cheap, so he'd treated his cruel behavior as a series of tests. If Naomi could pass them, then he would believe her feelings were genuine.

But before he could see the results, Naomi had decided to end the test herself.

Zebulon sneered internally.

That was impossible. Absolutely impossible.

Naomi didn't have the right or the power to call it quits.

"So what are you doing here today?" Zebulon asked, knowing from his parents that the marriage alliance between their families was still on.

That knowledge made him confident.

He had been too proud before, refusing to admit his feelings out loud.

But he had already conceded to his own parents, and had even promised Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez that Naomi would be his only wife.

He knew that even if Naomi truly decided to give up on him, their engagement would not change.

Zebulon was filled with a sense of arrogant pride.

So what if he had hurt Naomi? When it came to the two of them, he would always be the one in control.

Zebulon's mocking tone made Naomi's stomach turn, but she quickly composed herself. She didn't need to be upset now, because she knew she would be the one laughing in the end.

"My parents have already told me. The alliance between our families isn't changing."

Naomi looked at Zebulon and spoke seriously, "I'll interact with you all just as I did before. If you need me, you can always contact me. But I won't change my own plans for you. I have classes and a part-time job every day. From now on, don't invite me to casual dinners or hangouts. I don't have time."
