Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 203

"What?"

Mr. Gonzalez noticed his daughter was starting to change.

She never used to speak like this.

Now she was speaking in riddles.

"What's that supposed to mean? I'm your father, of course I'm on your side. I'll call the legal team right now. We'll see this through to the end."

Naomi didn't stop him.

Coincidentally, just as Mr. Gonzalez picked up his phone, Mrs. Hughes arrived with Zebulon in tow.

"Oh, you're here."

Mrs. Gonzalez stood up to greet them. Seeing Zebulon there despite his injuries, she was touched. "Zebulon, you should be resting at the hospital. You didn't have to make the trip."

"It's just a small matter. We can handle it."

A flicker of embarrassment crossed Mrs. Hughes' face.

She gave her son a little push and said with an apologetic smile, "It’s this brat's fault too. Naomi, please, don't hold back. Hit him, yell at him, whatever you want. Don't let him off easy."

Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez were stunned.

"What does that have to do with Zebulon?"

Seeing they were still in the dark, Mrs. Hughes felt a sense of relief, and her gaze toward Naomi softened.

She clearly assumed Naomi still had feelings for Zebulon and had deliberately omitted the details when telling her parents.

Mrs. Hughes relaxed, putting on a show of scolding Zebulon a few times before explaining that he had been there last night but somehow hadn't seen Naomi surrounded by those people.

"If my boy had seen her, he never would have stood by and let her be bullied."

Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez sighed in response.

"We know Zebulon. He certainly wouldn't have done it on purpose."
