Patricia accompanied Naomi all the way to the building that housed Spenzalez Studios.
“Whoa, this studio is huge! Look at this, in a prime location like this, the studio takes up three whole floors. The boss must be loaded! I wonder if they’re hiring security. I think I’ve got the build for it!”
Patricia usually had no interest in work, but seeing such a nice office building, she couldn't help but feel a little excited about the prospect.
“Should we ask about it later?”
A flicker of excitement crossed Patricia's face, but then she shook her head. “Nah, forget it. Your interview is the priority. If you get the job, maybe I can get a job here too. Then I can pick you up after work and enjoy their free air conditioning.”
Naomi smiled. They walked up to the studio's front desk, and before Naomi could even speak, the receptionist addressed her with a familiar tone. “Ms. Gonzalez, right? The interview is in the conference room at the end of this hallway.”
Naomi was taken aback. “Should I go over right now?”
The receptionist smiled warmly. “Yes.”
Naomi suddenly felt a pang of nervousness. Sensing her unease, Patricia squeezed her hand reassuringly. “It’s okay, Naomi. You’ll be great!”
Patricia had seen Naomi’s art. Even though she didn't understand it, she thought Naomi had a unique vision. Since this company had invited her for an interview, it meant they saw her potential too.
“Just be yourself and do what you do best. You’ve got this!”
Naomi’s racing heart calmed a little.
She nodded at Patricia and headed toward the conference room.
After watching Naomi go inside, Patricia curiously asked the receptionist, “Excuse me, miss, do you know my friend?”
The receptionist shook her head. “No, I don’t.”
Patricia frowned. “But you called her by name the second she walked up.”
The receptionist gave a knowing smile.
