Naomi hadn't expected to see Lennon here.

Her first thought was: Had Lennon been kicked out by the Spencer family? Was he actually looking for a job too?

The shock in her eyes was too obvious for Lennon to ignore.

He glanced at her, murmured a soft “Mm,” and then took a seat in the center of the interview panel.

Naomi watched, dumbfounded, as the interviewers quickly made room for Lennon in the center seat.

They also seemed to be afraid of him. A moment ago, they had been lively, but now they were much more reserved.

Naomi was utterly confused.

She looked at Lennon, hoping for an explanation.

“Sir, you two know each other?” one of the interviewers asked, mustering his courage.

Lennon simply gave another quiet “Mm.”

His neutral tone put both Naomi and the interviewers at ease.

At least it seemed this would be a fair and impartial interview.

Naomi realized she'd been overthinking things.

It was plausible that Lennon was the owner of this company. After all, given his difficult position in the Spencer family, it made sense for him to start his own small business.

She remembered from her research that this game studio was relatively new and likely in need of talent. As a college student, she was probably an affordable and capable option, which was why she'd been called in for an interview.

This line of thinking made perfect sense, and Naomi felt less awkward.

“Let's begin the interview.”
