Zebulon stared at Naomi in disbelief.
“You’re hitting me for him?”
Naomi frowned, thinking Zebulon’s comprehension skills were seriously lacking.
“Weren’t you the one who started it? Let him go now!”
Naomi truly couldn’t understand what had happened to Zebulon.
He had assaulted her colleague without any reason, and now he was looking at her with a hurt expression.
Did this person even understand the concept of personal boundaries?
“Why should I let him go? Naomi, what is your relationship with this man? Why are you so worried and anxious the second I get a little rough with him? Have you been skipping school all this time to fool around with this pretty boy?”
“How could you stoop so low, Naomi? Have you forgotten who you are? Even if you’re doing this to get back at me, you don’t have to resort to this, do you? Have you ever thought about how hurt I would be if I found out?”
Naomi’s eyes widened, shocked that Zebulon could see her in such a light.
Although Steven was still confused, he heard Zebulon misinterpreting his relationship with Naomi and speaking so cruelly. He decided to clarify, “Sir, I think you’ve misunderstood—”
Zebulon, already agitated, grew even angrier at the sound of Steven's voice. Without thinking, he threw a punch, his fierce expression startling Naomi. “Shut up! What right does a pretty boy like you have to talk back to me!”
Naomi’s face flushed with anger. “Zebulon!”
Hearing Zebulon so crudely insult her colleague put Naomi in a terrible mood.
She had thought Zebulon was only hostile toward her while maintaining a refined gentlemanly demeanor with others. She never imagined he could lose his composure like this.
To show such a vicious expression to a stranger—was this the upbringing of a gentleman?
