A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 165

Since the baby was already gone, at the very least, she could use this child one last time to help herself.

"What did you just say?" Tyson's brows drew together in a deep frown. "What does any of this have to do with Nona?"

"Nona is the one who killed our baby! And you're still calling her by that sweet nickname?" Celia's eyes were bright red, her voice cracking. "That awful picture—she sent it to me! She must have heard I was pregnant, so she deliberately sent me something to scare me. She wanted to hurt me!"

Tyson shook his head. "No, that's impossible. Nona would never do something like that."

"Ty, our child is gone, and you're still defending her?" Celia looked at him with a shocked expression, her hands trembling. "You say she'd never do something like that—what, is she some saint and I'm the wicked one?"

"That's not what I mean." Tyson's voice was tight with frustration. "I just…"

"She can't stand to see us happy! Even though she's already seeing someone else, she still can't accept that you and I have a future together. That's why she wanted to hurt me—and our baby!"

Tyson froze.

So… was it jealousy? Had Nona made Celia lose the baby because she was jealous?

Did that mean Nona still had feelings for him?

Celia had no idea Tyson's thoughts had wandered so far off track. She clung to his hand, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I thought we'd be a happy family, just the three of us. But Nona ruined everything! Ty, you have to get justice for our baby, please!"

She couldn't name Jude as the culprit.

So she might as well blame Nona.

After all, the only real obstacle between her and Tyson was Nona.

If Nona did all this, it meant she still cared about him.

Maybe she was just angry about the fake marriage certificate—and a little dazzled by Elvis for now.

If he just tried a little harder, maybe won her over again, she'd come back to him.

"Ty." Celia's voice trembled. "Are you…smiling?"

Tyson snapped back to reality, catching himself just as the corners of his mouth curled up.

"No, you're seeing things," he said quickly, brushing her off. "I'll take care of this. For now, just get some rest."
