A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 60

Afraid that Tyson would bring up the divorce again, Celia sobbed and made a scene until she claimed exhaustion and sent him away.

She picked up a mirror and stared at her sallow, lifeless face. Rage twisted her features as she clenched her teeth, cursing Winona a thousand times over.

This was all Winona's fault—she was the reason Celia's life had come to this.

Now, a permanent stain would follow her wherever she went.

The more Celia thought about it, the angrier she became.

Suddenly she remembered something. Snatching up her phone, she opened her favorite video app, eager to check the popularity of her dance clip.

Before she'd ended up in police custody, her video had been trending, with floods of positive comments and plenty of people badmouthing Winona. Reading those had given her a twisted sense of satisfaction.

By now, there had to be even more comments, right?

But as soon as the app loaded, her heart dropped. Her account had been banned—permanently. Every video she'd ever posted was gone.

What the hell?

For a moment, Celia just stared, stunned.

She quickly switched to another video platform. After her dance clip blew up, it had been reposted everywhere, so there should have been traces left elsewhere. But even after frantically searching, she found nothing. No matter what keywords she tried, it was like her video had never existed at all.

Someone had scrubbed her from the entire internet.

Just as she was fuming, lost and bewildered, her phone buzzed with a new message—from the president of her dance society.

"Sorry, Miss Goodwin. After careful discussion, the society has unanimously decided to ask you to leave. We've already posted a statement on our website. From now on, your actions have nothing to do with us."

Celia's mind went blank, a ringing in her ears.

A chill crept down Celia's spine.

Had Elvis really gone this far for Winona, covering every angle, even wiping out her online presence?

Was he truly invested in Winona?

If so, Winona had found herself a powerful backer. The Rogers family was one of the four most influential families in the Capital, and lately, they were leading the pack. People had started calling Elvis the "Crown Prince of the Capital" behind his back.

Sure, the Goodwin family was wealthy, but compared to the Rogers family of the Capital…

Celia's heart clenched tighter. She thought about running to Tyson to complain, but remembered how hard she'd just worked to keep him from marching off to file for divorce. Would pushing her luck now just make him angrier?

Forget it. At least she could still dance. Winona, on the other hand, would spend the rest of her life as a cripple.

As for Elvis, maybe he was just toying with Winona for a while. Men of his status never gave their hearts to just one woman—certainly not to someone like her.
