A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 461

Without Herbert, what was she? Nothing!

Darleen was useless, too. She had gone to the Farley family estate twice and hadn't even managed to see any of the family elders.

The thought only fueled Brinley's rage, and she began smashing things with even greater force.

The violent crashes jolted Sally from her sleep. She tried to intervene. "Miss, what are you doing?"

They didn't have any other maids assigned to them. If Brinley made a mess, they would be the ones cleaning it up. Sally already felt like her bones were about to crumble from the day's exhaustion; she had no energy left for this.

"It's all your fault! What kind of terrible advice was that?" Brinley shrieked, turning her fury on Sally. She had been told that surrendering to Starla was her only path to survival. So she did. She had humbled herself, even knelt before Starla, and for what? Look at the attitude she received in return.

Recalling Starla's condescending expression, Brinley's anger surged, and she hurled her wedding photo with Faraday against the wall, shattering the glass.

Sally knew instantly that Brinley’s attempt at reconciliation had failed.

Seeing her maid’s silence, Brinley grew even more frantic. "You told me she'd let me go if I just gave in! Why aren't you saying anything now? You just wanted to see me humiliated in front of her, didn't you?"

"Miss, how can you say that?" Sally cried, shocked by the accusation. She would never do such a thing.
