A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 477

Darleen could no longer contain her fury. The suspicion that she and Fairfax had harbored against Felix regarding Faraday's death now felt like an undeniable truth, and her emotions spiraled out of control.

Xenia was just as livid to hear that Brinley had been involved with Felix.

"That bitch!" she cursed, echoing her mother. She, too, had treated Brinley with the utmost kindness, a stark contrast to how she'd treated Starla.

"We were blind! Completely blind! How did we not see what she was up to?" Xenia lamented. "If she's really involved with Felix, then she definitely had a hand in killing Faraday."

What was once a suspicion against Felix now solidified into a conviction that Brinley was an accomplice in Faraday's death.

"That wretched woman," Darleen hissed, her voice filled with venom. "I won't spare her!"

The memory of Faraday's tragic death fueled her rage, and she wished she could strangle Brinley with her bare hands. If they weren't close, why would Brinley get into Felix's car? It was obvious they had been involved for some time. When did it start? Was it while Faraday was still alive?

The more Darleen thought about it, the more she felt a suffocating pressure in her chest, as if she couldn't breathe.

She gritted her teeth. "For the six months since Faraday died, I've treated her like a treasure. I kept telling myself she was carrying Faraday's children, that she was his wife! Because Faraday was gone, I loved her even more! And this is how she repays me?"

Darleen was on the verge of a breakdown. The thought of how she had poured her heart out for Brinley after Faraday's death was unbearable. It was only recently that she had grown colder toward her, but who could blame her? Their own lives were falling apart.

Yet Brinley continued to cause trouble when the family was at its most vulnerable. It was only natural that Darleen's patience had worn thin. But before all this, hadn't she been good to Brinley? Exceptionally good. The realization that her kindness had been met with such betrayal made Darleen feel like she was having a heart attack.
