Janina described everything that had just happened in the study.
Maggie was stunned for a moment, then let out a cold snort. "Is he trying to have two wives or something? You've been the one chasing him all these years, doesn't he get it? Next time he tries something like that, you call the police. Accuse him of attempted rape and see how he likes that."
Janina glanced nervously at the locked door. She used to wish Julius would treat her this way, but now, it just felt disgusting.
"I've packed my clothes and some other small things. I'll find a place in the next couple of days and move out. He doesn't know about the baby, and I'm not planning on telling him. We're getting a divorce anyway. I'll take the five million, and we'll be done with each other."
"Come stay with me," Maggie offered. "It's just me here, so you'd be good company. It'll be easier for the four of us to get together. As for the baby, just focus on handling the divorce first."
Janina knew Maggie was trying to help, but they weren't divorced yet. Given Julius's personality, he would definitely track her down at Maggie's place if he found out she was there. She didn't want to cause trouble for her friend.
Janina forced a bitter smile. "No, it's okay. I'm already in touch with a real estate agent about finding a place. I'm sure something will turn up soon."
"Then let me come over and keep you company," Maggie insisted.
"I'm not a child," Janina refused. "You focus on work. I'll call you if I need anything."
Maggie relented, figuring Janina probably didn't want anyone to see her in such a vulnerable state. "Okay, but call me if anything happens."
"I will."
Maggie knew it would be incredibly painful for Janina to let go of a ten-year love for Julius.
She had devoted the best years of her life to him. She would need time to process it all on her own.
As a friend, the best Maggie could do was offer support and be there for her when she was needed.
After hanging up, Janina sat in the empty room, lost in thought, until she heard the sound of the front door closing downstairs.
She snapped back to reality and went to the large window. A moment later, she saw Julius's car pull away. A woman was in the passenger seat. It was Yvonne.
