Janina leaned over the railing, watching Julius cradle a screaming Yvonne in his arms as he frantically dialed for an ambulance.
She clicked her tongue and turned away. It wasn't her who pushed her. She retrieved her phone from the doorway, glanced at the recorded video, and a small smile touched her lips.

In the hospital room, Yvonne woke up around noon the next day.
"Yvonne, you're awake." Julius's eyes were bloodshot, with dark circles underneath. It was clear he hadn't slept all night.
Yvonne's forehead and wrist were wrapped in gauze. She looked frail and delicate. Her right hand moved to her abdomen, and tears began to stream down her face.
"Julius…" Her voice trembled, thick with unspeakable sorrow.
That one word held a world of grievance.
Julius took her hand, his face etched with pain. "Don't be afraid," he soothed. "I'm here."
"My baby… is my baby okay?" Yvonne's eyes were red, tears falling like broken pearls.
Seeing her in such agony tore at Julius.
"Yvonne," he said gently, "you're still young. We can have more children. The most important thing now is for you to get better."
"W-why?" she sobbed. "Why would she do this to me? The baby was innocent! She could do anything she wanted to me, but why hurt my baby?"
"I don't have a future! This baby was my whole life! Julius, why would she do this to me…"
