"Julius, is she..." Before Julius could speak, Yvonne walked over to his side, standing opposite Janina with a look of surprise.
Yvonne wore exquisite makeup, and a designer dress accentuated her perfect figure. Combined with her innocent yet seductive face, no man could resist her charm.
She was beautiful.
Even Janina had to admit that Yvonne's looks would make her a standout in the entertainment industry.
Janina straightened her back, determined not to lose her composure, especially since she currently looked disheveled and messy.
"This is Janina," Julius said to Yvonne, his gaze softening as he looked at her.
"Oh, so you're Janina!"
Yvonne acted as if she had just recognized her. She smiled gracefully, addressing Janina as if she were the hostess.
"I'm so sorry, Janina. I wasn't feeling well, so I came for a check-up. I didn't know anyone else to call, so I had to ask Julius to come with me. I hope you don't mind."
She called him "Julius" so intimately. How could she not know anyone else? Clayborne City was Yvonne's hometown, and any of Julius's friends would have known her.
But she specifically chose to ask a married man, Julius, to accompany her.
Janina suppressed the turmoil in her heart, refusing to show weakness in front of Yvonne. It wasn't the time to burn bridges yet. She hadn't gotten a cent out of this, so she had to stay calm.
If the love was gone, it was time to talk money.
Janina gave herself a silent pep talk, then stepped forward, affectionately linking her arm through Julius's. She smiled at Yvonne. "It's no problem. You go get your check-up. Honey, I'll wait for you."
Julius glanced down at Janina's hand on his arm but didn't say anything. At home, she was always this clingy with him.
