Abandoned by All I Took It All Back novel Chapter 52

"Son of a bitch! How could he leave you on Mourning Lane? Doesn't he know that road is supposedly haunted?" Melody was furious, her hatred for Julius boiling over.

Maggie kept her eyes on the road. "I'm going to punch him the next time I see him. But first, let's get you some food."

Wendy added, "If you ask me, you need to get that divorce finalized and get away from that scumbag as soon as possible. But first, we eat. To celebrate Nina's divorce, shouldn't we go somewhere special?"

With her three best friends by her side, Janina's gloomy mood finally lifted. They decided to go for a celebratory dinner at their favorite Korean BBQ place to mark both her divorce and her survival.

First, Maggie drove Janina home so she could take a shower and change into clean clothes.

Then, the four of them walked into the restaurant, ready to celebrate.

They were so cheerful, anyone would have thought they were celebrating Janina's wedding, not her divorce.

Even though she'd been through hell last night and had gotten less in the settlement, being free from that toxic man was worth it.

After dinner, they went shopping, and for their evening meal, they grabbed some street food.

In college, the four of them used to frequent the food truck alley together, and the memories of those happy, carefree days were still sweet.

They had originally planned to hit a bar after dinner, but considering Janina's pregnancy, they opted for a lounge with live music instead.

Tonight was all about being happy and doing whatever they felt like.

Meanwhile...

Julius was completely out of it at the office all day. He had checked his phone countless times, but there were no calls or messages from Janina.

She had moved out. Where would she go?

The unease in his heart grew, but he was too proud to contact her first. Instead, he went to a private club to drink alone.
