Wendy worked as a secretary at a large corporation. Her job paid well, but her boss was notoriously difficult.

Though their careers were different, the four of them were incredibly close.

In the adult world, true friends who understood you were rare.

From college to their professional lives, their bond had only deepened.

After some thought, she decided to call Maggie first to help her dig up some information on Yvonne.

Next, she would need evidence—proof of Julius's affair—so she could get a larger settlement in the divorce.

She had willingly entered his world, and now she could find her way out.

From this moment on, she would no longer hold any hope or wait for Julius. It was all worthless.

"Are you free for lunch tomorrow?" Janina asked.

"The famous Mrs. Aurelius has time for me? Of course, I'm free," Maggie replied.

"Great. The usual place, that restaurant across from your office."

"Perfect. I'll head over as soon as I'm off work."
