After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 341

No matter what her reasons were, Ethan couldn’t get her door open.

Every guest room had a spare key, but Susan had gone home for the night and he had no clue where she kept them. He only ever worried about his master suite and the study. All the other guest room keys were Susan’s problem, not his.

So now, with no key, he was stuck in the hallway.

He tried getting Isabella to wake up, calling her name again and again, even giving her a gentle shake. Nothing worked. She was completely out, sleeping so deeply that he wondered if even a thunderstorm could wake her.

With no other options, Ethan scooped her up in his arms again. He carried her to the master bedroom door and paused for just a second before unlocking it and taking her inside.

His room was always his own space, and his bed had never seen anyone else in it. No other woman had ever slept there.

Isabella was the first.

He let out a quiet sigh. Well, she was his wife. Husbands and wives were supposed to share a bed, weren’t they?

When they first got married, he honestly didn’t have any feelings for her. That was why they always slept in separate rooms. But now things had changed. He actually wanted to have a real marriage with her. The problem was, she didn’t seem to want that.

He knew intimacy had to be something both people wanted. Even if he wanted to be a real husband to her now, he would never force her. He just had to find a way to win her heart back, to make her love him the way she used to. After that, everything else would just happen naturally.

Right now, his mind wasn’t on Natalie at all.

Ethan set Isabella gently on the big bed. He knelt down to take off her shoes, making sure she was comfortable, then headed into the bathroom. He found a clean towel, ran it under some water, and came back to carefully wipe her face.
