Alpha Damon (Sienna) novel Chapter 273

I stared into space for a few moments, knowing that this was not something that I thought we would be going through.

Her…

The woman who my mate never knew, and yet, the woman that ran into the flames to save my life and my mother… she was here. And yet, rather than the pack being happy by her presence, rather than them being content by something like this… they were scared.

She was once known as a hero. Her story was told around when we were younger. A story of the woman that saved the heir of the Alpha and his Luna. The story was later forgotten. It stopped being told. And then, somehow, it just starting fading away… Now, here we were. Hearing the name that she once came with. The name that was a reminder of who she was before she came here. Before she started seeking help and refugee, before she came to rebuild her life again.

But this time, she didn’t come here to save anyone. She came to take. To claim. To kill. And to possess…

Though to what reason? What motive? What could Giovanni be getting out of his own daughter that would have him sending someone like this for her? I didn’t know. I had no reason to give. No excuse to try and present. Because none was going to explain anything…

“They’re waiting on you.”

Ethan’s voice came from behind me, low, snapping me out of my train of thoughts.

“I know.” I said, looking at him over my shoulder. “Everyone seems to be waiting for what I am going to say. They seem to be waiting for what I will be telling them. What I am going to try and explain when it comes to this…”

“Damon, you know that they need you as their leader.”

I didn’t look at them. I kept my eyes on my wolves. I kept my eyes on the men and women that are my family. Because I knew that we stood by one another’s side through it all, until the end of time, together.

“Then let’s not waste time,” I said, and started walking. “They are going to need to stand strong, just as we all are going to be doing so.”

“}

My shoes hit the stone steps down into the clearing. The moment I stepped into view, a hush fell. No one spoke. No one even blinked. Every eye locked on me. Everyone was waiting for what I was going to say. Everyone was bracing themselves for what they were going to hear. They knew that I didn’t come here for jokes, and I sure as hell didn’t come here to tell them a story. Right now, we were in the middle of something big, something cruel, and dark. And they all saw it.
