Reagan’s POV
Even with the seat pushed right back and only having one foot, I still needed the legroom in Edgar’s small car. It also helped that I was out of Sam’s periphery so that I could pull the peak of my cap down. I was hoping to catch a bit of sleep, as I had a lot to sort out when I got home.
“I don’t recall you ever complaining so much,” I snapped at Callan as he complained about Sam’s erratic driving. I know he is eager to get home, but he should be grateful that Sam said yes to taking us. It would be a long walk, especially with one crutch. Now he is complaining about how many breaks Sam has needed. “She’s not used to driving and is probably nervous about where we’re going.”
“Do you remember why you were out there?” I asked Callan. Referring to the day Sam and Ellie found us.
“It’s been bothering me for a while. It’s gone from my mind. What was your last memory?” He asked, getting frustrated with himself.
“The last thing I remember was going to meet Alpha Sunak at the Crescent Moon Pack. He wanted to discuss a rogue problem he was having. I was going in person as l needed to talk to him about Evelyn and her desperate attempts to become my mate.” I scoffed. Even if I took a chosen mate, it would be a cold day in hell before l marked someone like her. “I’m not even sure if I made it,” Callan growled. We both hated being in the dark about the situation that led to us losing a limb.
“In 600 yards, take the next left,” the female voice on the sat nav bturted out. I adjusted my cap as I recognized where | was. I was almost home. As we drove down the long road towards the palace. I could see Sam’s grip tighten on the steering wheel. “Don’t worry, Sam. My brother is head of security here.”T lied to her. After me, he is the head of everything.
“You told me that. But look at that place.” She pointed in the distance. “It’s a security gate protecting a damned palace.” She sank into her seat. “Reagan, I shouldn’t be here.” She said quietly.
I didn’t correct her about the place being a palace. You just can’t see all of it from where we are. “Sam, I promise you will be safe. I will protect you with my life. Besides, Ellie has threatened to do all sorts of unpleasant things to me if anything happens to you.”
She smirked, “Ellie was the one who saved me, physically and mentally. She gave me a home, protected me, and encouraged me to lead a full life. Ellie loves me with her whole heart, and I don’t think anyone would be able to stop her if I got hurt.” Sam snickered. Sam’s statement made me fear that Ellie’s psycho threat was real. Not that 1 would let anything happen to Sam.
The car came to a slow stop at the security gates. I saw Steven come out of the security office. Seeing his uniform filled me with pride as he wore it with honor. He tapped on Sam’s window. She inhaled deeply, then pressed the button that would lower it.
“Steven is going to be thrilled to see us,” Callan barked ecstatically. I told Callan I couldn’t wait to see the look on Steven’s face when he recognized me, we had known each other for years. His dad was the head of the border patrol.
Steven was a great candidate to take over when he decided to retire.
“What do you want, rogue?” Steven asked Sam in a tone that I didn’t appreciate.
“My friend said he lived here and asked if I would bring him home,” Sam said in such a small voice that knew she was scared. Steven scoffed.
“We don’t have any filthy rogues living here. But I will tell you what, seeing that you are a pretty young thing. I won’t kill you right here if you want to escort me inside…” Callan and I were disgusted. Not only about threatening to kill Sam. But also about what he was insinuating. I didn’t want to hear him finish that sentence.
“How dare you?” I yelled, “I will deal with you later, Steven. But right now, Steven, open the damned gates,” | commanded. Steven’s face appeared in the window, and his jaw dropped. “Put the window up,” I told Sam as I got out of the car. Hearing the window was in place, Callan released his Alpha aura. Steven strained to look at me as he tilted his head to the side, bearing his neck in submission. Steven tried to speak, but Callan wasn’t letting up: “Are you ready to open the gate?” I asked calmly, but inside I was planning his punishment.
Although he was still straining, he nodded his head slightly. Which is when Callan released him.
As he tugged on the collar of his uniform, gasping for breath, he managed to say, “Reagan? You’re supposed to be dead.” He blinked his eyes frantically. “They had a funeral.” I didn’t want to hear any more from him. I didn’t even want to look at his face.
“Don’t tell my brother I’m here. I want to surprise him.” I instructed and waved a finger. Steven rushed inside the security office and the gates opened. I got back in the car, and Sam drove forward.
“So, you are a dead man hopping, are you?” Sam asked and snickered.
“A funeral? How unnecessary!” I scoffed. But then again, if Sam and Ellie hadn’t found me, would I be dead?
“You grew up here? It’s beautiful,” Sam said as my mind considered the multiple outcomes of the day they found me.
I threw open the door to see a woman’s blonde hair and her bare back, screaming and calling out Caspian’s name as she orgasmed. I could tell instantly that the woman was Evelyn. “Caspian,” I yelled as loudly as I could.
Evelyn’s scream changed from one of pleasure to one of panic. Caspian threw her aside. “Who the hell do you think…” Caspian’s voice yelled before his face appeared above the covers.
His face said it all, but when his jaw dropped, he knew he had been caught. “Reagan?” he whispered my name.” Reagan?” for more updates visit j-o_bni_b . ( c)o_mHe yelled as he bounced off the bed. “Reagan?” he came running toward me. I wanted to remind him that he had an erection. But at the speed he was running, I don’t think anything would have stopped him. He wrapped his arms around me and cried, “It’s you. I’m not dreaming. It’s really you.”
I dropped my crutch so I could hold my baby brother. He pushed me at arm’s length so he could see me. “I knew it. I knew you weren’t dead. I knew you wouldn’t leave me alone in this world. Not my brother, no, he wouldn’t do that to me.” Caspian pulled me to him again.
A door slammed, but I didn’t care. I was home, and my best friend was in my arms. Once the initial shock wore off, I remembered what he had been doing before my arrival. I was about to scold him for having sex in my bed and for wiping his cock on me. But I remembered I had left Sam alone for far too long. I pointed to my crutch, which Caspian looked at in horror. “It’s a long story. Get dressed.
There is someone I want you to meet.” I told him.
After picking up his clothes from my floor. As we made our way down the corridors toward my office, Caspian acted like an excited child, jumping about and hugging me. “I’ll tell you everything after I get back to Sam,” I told him, knowing she would be anxious with me being gone for so long.Caspian pushed open the door to his office, which was strange, as when I left it was open. Maybe Sam closed it so that no one could see her. Looking around the room, though she wasn’t there. “Where is he? This friend of yours. I can’t wait to meet him,” Caspian said. I could smell her, but she was nowhere to be seen. Not a chance, Sam, she wouldn’t have gorte wandering.
“Your Majesty.” Kevin, head of the royal guard, came rushing through the door. His jaw dropped when he saw me. He raised his finger and pointed it at me, unable to speak.
“Speak,” Caspian ordered.
Kevin didn’t take his eyes off me as he answered Caspian.” We don’t know how she got in, Your Majesty. But as per your instructions, the rogue has been dealt with.”
