Aww Seven Exes Begged Cute Blocked novel Chapter 47

**A Promise Written on the Rusted Edge of Time by Dael Rowan Sire**
**Chapter 47**

It was barely thirty minutes after Allen had walked out the door when my phone buzzed with a notification that made my heart sink. Maya had sent me a screenshot, and as I glanced at it, my breath caught in my throat.

It was Madison’s latest Instagram post, and the caption read: “Perfect morning! Say you’re hungry and your crush magically appears with breakfast. I think this might be turning into something real… ❤️”

The accompanying photo showcased a box of chocolate croissants, the very same ones that had graced my kitchen table just hours before. My stomach twisted into knots as I felt the familiar sting of betrayal.

I didn’t bother to reply. Instead, I let the silence envelop me, wiping away the tears that had begun to fall, my fingers trembling as I knelt to clean up the spilled chai. The rich, dark liquid had seeped into the wool carpet, staining it with an unforgiving permanence. I scrubbed and scrubbed, but the stain remained, mocking me with its resilience.

In a fit of rage and despair, I rolled up the entire carpet, its intricate patterns now a painful reminder of happier times. I tossed it away like a piece of discarded history, a gift from Aiden and his parents that had taken them an entire afternoon to select in Nepal. The memory of their excitement as they presented it to me felt like a distant echo, drowned out by the chaos of my current emotions.

Not stopping there, I gathered every trace of Aiden that lingered in my home. Every little thing he had left behind, every gift he had ever given me, all those moments captured in photographs—prom night smiles, candid selfies, and everything in between—went into garbage bags. It felt surreal to pack up six years of our shared life, but deep down, I knew he wouldn’t want any of it.

The entire day slipped by in a blur of cleaning and packing. I felt a strange mix of relief and sorrow as I tossed memories into the trash, each bag a weight lifted but also a piece of my heart discarded.

Days passed without a word from Aiden. I imagined him moving on, probably enjoying his time with Madison, while I sat in silence, feeling the cavernous void he had left behind. It was a familiar pattern, one I had followed during our past fights, but this time, I made a conscious choice to break the cycle.

There was no point in reaching out anymore.
