Serene stared at Madison's message. Her eyes narrowed, and her expression turned guarded. She thought for a moment before typing her reply.

"Ms. Quinn, I've never handled a situation like yours before. If possible, I'd like to visit your home and do an evaluation. When would be convenient for you?"

A home visit?

Madison frowned, hesitation flickering in her eyes. She didn't want a psychologist showing up at her place. If she had, she wouldn't have sought help from a psychologist overseas.

Perhaps Madison had kept her waiting too long, for Serene sent another message.

"Of course, if it isn't convenient for you to have me come over, you can come to me instead. But the evaluation is necessary, because we need to run tests and then arrange treatment based on the results."

"Got it. I'll think about it."

Madison bit her lip and ended the session.

She had no idea that, after it ended, Serene asked a friend to discreetly look into her.

Her friend on the other end sounded puzzled. "Why are you investigating this Helvarian?"

Serene read through her chat with Madison and said what she suspected, "She might have made it off Mudward Isle."

"What?"

Her friend was stunned, and there was a soft clatter over the line, like something had been knocked over.

After a long pause, she lowered her voice and asked, "Are you sure? Could anyone make it out of that place alive?"

Serene pressed her lips together. "I'm sure. What she told me was almost identical to the Mudward Isle intel we've been quietly gathering for years."

"In that case, I'll run a thorough check on Ms. Quinn."

"Thanks. Watch your back."
