Sam blinked before getting Madison off him. He said, "If you want my trust, you'll have to prove it to me."
Madison had just found her footing when she heard what he said. She immediately beamed at him. She knew that Sam would give her the chance. Thus, she looked at him with a determined gaze and said, "I won't let you down!"
Sam felt a little uneasy at her unwavering gaze, so he looked away, but he was smiling. His flushed ears gave away his true feelings. He was overjoyed.
Madison could see how embarrassed he was. She wanted to tease him more, but she was also afraid she might annoy him.
So, she changed the topic and said, "Sam, why don't you inform the security guards that if they ever see Johnny near the office, they should chase him away?"
Sam didn't want Johnny to continue harassing Madison, so he nodded.
At that moment, Benjamin served them lunch. The dishes were all Madison's favorites. She felt a warmth coursing through her heart at that.
During lunch, she kept serving Sam food, wanting him to eat more. Due to his stomach condition, Sam usually didn't have much of an appetite. Most of the time, he would grab a few bites before continuing to work.
However, it was because of this that his stomach condition didn't get any better, but instead got worse. It ended up being cancer, and he had to cut half of his stomach away.
At that thought, Madison secretly promised herself that she was going to change this bad habit of his.
Sam didn't know what she was thinking. He only continued eating the food that Madison had served him. Somehow, he felt that the chef had done a wonderful job that day, for everything was extremely delicious.
