Sam sat in the backseat of the black sedan, his eyes meeting Madison's from a distance.

His face was hidden under the shade, so no one could see his current expression. Even so, Madison could sense the iciness from afar and started to panic.

She had promised Sam that she would never see Johnny again just two days ago, yet she was caught red-handed.

Sam must have surely misunderstood. Madison had to clear things up with him.

"Johnny, let me go!" Madison looked away and tried to shrug Johnny off.

But Johnny had finally caught hold of her. How could he possibly let her go that easily? He composed himself and pleaded once more, "Maddie, I'm begging you. Don't do this to me. I really, really… Ouch!"

Johnny wailed in pain. He let go of Madison and fell to the ground, crouching in pain. Since he refused to let her go, she had completely lost her patience and kicked him in the groin.

Finally managing to shrug Johnny off, Madison ran as fast as she could toward the car. She was worried that Sam would drive off.

Luckily, when she arrived, Sam was still there.

"Sam… h-hear… me… out…" Madison tapped on the car window, catching her breath. She explained anxiously, "I-I… didn't mean to… see…"

Seeing how she could barely string her sentences together, trying hard to explain herself, the disappointment in Sam vanished instantly.

It didn't matter why Madison met up with Johnny. At that moment, she cared only about what Sam thought.

Sam interrupted her. "Alright. You don't have to explain."

Madison misunderstood Sam, thinking he wasn't interested in hearing her out. She frantically opened the car door and flung herself into his arms.
