“Ella, you…”

Amelia’s glossed lips formed a petulant pout as she turned a wounded gaze toward Zane, clearly expecting him to defend her.

But I knew Zane all too well–he always prided himself on being the ‘nice guy‘ who never directly offended any woman.

“Alright, you two have fun.”

I said, my voice smooth and dismissive. Without another glance in their direction, I turned and walked away.

I raised an eyebrow slightly, ignored her, turned, and walked away.

The gown’s train kept getting underfoot. I kicked it back lightly with my heel, bent down, gathered the fabric in my hands, and strode into the banquet

hall.

What a pain.

This dress was as much of a nuisance as the divorce papers Victoria was clutching.

But the moment I entered the banquet hall, I stopped.

Theodore was standing across the room. He winked at me and started walking over.

I sensed danger and instinctively avoided him, heading straight into the auction area.

A staff member guided me to the VIP section. “Mrs. Grayson, right this way.”

“Thank you.”

I sat down and let out a quiet breath.

Theodore followed me in and was about to come closer when someone grabbed him roughly.

After all, he was a Windsor.

In all of New York, everyone showed him respect for Gavin’s sake.

He shook off the hand irritably. “Damn it, are you blind-”

“Theodore.” Amelia let go, not looking upset at all. Her voice was gentle. “Don’t rush. If you approach her now, you’ll just put her on guard. What’s the point?”

“What do you mean?”

“I’ve arranged everything.” She smiled slightly, poking his chest with a slender finger. “You just need to be ready when the time comes. Everything will go exactly how you want.”

“Really?”

“Of course.”

Amelia looked over at me confidently, narrowing her eyes.

After today, let’s see how this bitch plans to keep clinging to the Grayson family.

Seeing Theodore drop the idea of approaching me for now, she followed a staff member and took a seat just one spot away from me.

Once settled, Amelia took out her compact and glanced at me casually. “You always look so unbothered. I guess you don’t mind me holding Zane’s arm in public.”

I kept my head down, scrolling on my phone, not even looking up.

“If you like publicly flaunting your role as the other woman, go ahead. I can’t even be bothered to watch the show.”

Amelia pressed down too hard, and her lipstick smeared. She took a sharp breath and snorted coldly. “Elara, you’d better stay this calm forever!”

I didn’t believe for a second she could keep her cool after Theodore publicly humiliated her!

As soon as she finished, Zane walked over after greeting some people.

He sat right between the two of us.

Naturally, the scene caught everyone’s attention.

Some couldn’t help but whisper:

“Mr. Grayson is so lucky–his wife and his ‘sister–in–law‘ both by his side.”

“Hmph, calling an affair with your brother’s widow something so classy? Is Amelia that desperate she’d go after her own brother–in–law?”

“Seriously, how little must Mr. Grayson respect his wife to bring his mistress to a public event like this?”

“All I can say is Elara has incredible patience. The other woman is right in her face, and she doesn’t even flinch.”

That last comment had a few people nodding in agreement.
