Chapter 120
Not necessary.
I was nowhere near that desperate yet.
The day I returned to the clinic, I still wasn’t completely well. The fever had broken, but a stubborn cough lingered.
Before calling in my first patient, I put on a double mask.
Eleanor was first on the list. After getting her prescription, not wanting to take up time, she said quickly, “Dr. Elara, I need to go home and get things ready. Come over after you finish with your patients–I’ll be waiting to have dinner with you.”
She’d already sent me her address two days prior.
I smiled. “Alright. I understand.”
Third–person POV
A black Bentley with license plate ABC–9999 slowly stopped in front of the upscale estate’s main gate.
Neil urged Gavin to get out: “Sir, this is your grandmother’s arrangement. You can’t escape it.”
Gavin opened his eyes, restraining his sharp gaze, and was about to push the door open when it suddenly opened.
Eleanor grabbed his arm and pulled him out before he could protest: “Do you have time for lunch? I have something to discuss with you.”
