Betrayed I Upgraded to His Billionaire Brother novel Chapter 123

“Uh, boss?”

Weren’t you just insanely busy a moment ago?

Neil blinked, hesitating to say more. Finally, he muttered, “Alright, I’ll reply to the miss right now.”

Gavin’s personal bodyguard, chewing on a candy with a crunch, watched Neil head downstairs and remarked, “There was no need to go upstairs and ask. With sir’s extreme germaphobia and his overflowing wardrobe, why on earth would he want clothes that the miss had sent out to an external dry cleaner?”

Neil shot him a look that clearly said, Are you serious? “Sir said to have the miss bring it over,” he said firmly. “And he said to bring it right now.”

Elara’s point of view

[Miss, the boss is free now. Please bring it over.]

[We’re currently at the boss’s house.]

When those two messages popped up on my screen, I sat frozen, staring at my phone.

He actually still wanted it back?

But then again, I really owed him my thanks for what he did that night. Maybe this was the perfect chance to say it.

I carefully spread the suit flat on the passenger seat and started the car.

For some reason, this place—supposedly top-notch in security—just waved me through again without a single question.

Driving along the serene lakeside road, my stomach knotted with nerves.

He must have thought I looked utterly pathetic that night—just another hopelessly lovesick girl in his eyes. I braced myself for some sarcastic remarks today.

“Miss, you’re here!” Neil hurried out as I parked and opened my door. “Can I get you anything? Coffee? Juice? Just say the word.”

He treated me the same way he always had—like a little sister he’d watched grow up, but with that professional distance he never crossed. For a brief moment, it felt like no time had passed at all.

“Juice is fine. Thanks, Neil.”

“No need to thank me.” He smiled warmly. “Haven’t we always had your back since you were knee-high?”

Gavin had personally handpicked the entire team from orphanages. Their loyalty belonged solely to him—no one else.

When Gavin first brought me home, they were all curious about me—a quiet, soft-spoken girl. But eventually, they all doted on me. Even now, after everything, I was still family to them. That never changed.

My eyes grew warm, and I quickly looked away. “Yeah. You really did look after me all those years.”

Neil noticed my emotion and gently gestured upstairs. “You should head up. The boss is waiting.”

“Alright.” I glanced toward the second floor, feeling my palms grow clammy.

I knew Gavin’s old estate like the back of my hand—I could’ve counted every ant hill in the yard. But this place? It was all new, strange… just like the way things were between us now.
