Chapter 170
He wouldn’t allow something like that to happen.
If he and I ever had a baby, that child would only know a life of ease and blessing.
My mind was a mess. I missed the deeper meaning in his words and got even angrier, my words tumbling out recklessly.
“Can you please stop joking about this? I know you’ve probably had plenty of women, maybe even children.”
Before I could finish, my words were swallowed by his kiss.
Gavin parted my lips insistently, his tongue tangling deeply with mine. His raw desire and dominance were on full display.
Steam filled the bathroom, thick with unspoken tension.
I don’t know why, but every time he kisses me, my legs turn to jelly. I get so lost in it I can’t even control my own breathing.
I tried to lean back, but he anticipated it. His large hand cupped the nape of my neck, holding me firmly in place, his thumb stroking my skin.
Soon, I was completely overwhelmed, my voice breaking. “Gavin…”
“Big brother.”
His lips never left mine. Even in the midst of this dizzying passion, he didn’t forget to correct me.
Strange, unfamiliar sensations washed over me. I stopped fighting him. “B–Big brother.”
My voice, softened by the kiss, came out docile and sweet. The hand resting on my waist tightened instantly, the tendons standing out starkly, veins bulging with raw tension.
“Ow!”
I didn’t expect him to grip me harder after I gave in.
That sudden intensity felt like he wanted to crush me into his very body.
Gavin snapped back to himself instantly. His grip loosened, and he dropped a soothing kiss on my lips. His breathing was heavy and ragged. “Sorry. Did I hurt you?”
But as he pulled back and saw my tear–dampened eyelashes, he almost lost control again.
“Shower!”
He threw out the two words, then turned and headed for the guest bathroom.
I watched his retreating back, stunned.
Was he planning to continue this in the bedroom after our showers?
The bathtub was nearly overflowing. I hopped down to turn off the water. Hesitating for a moment, and seeing no sign of Gavin returning, I
went over and locked the bathroom door.
All my toiletries were still in their usual places.
But after my bath, I realized there was only one pure white towel on the rack. No extras.

Chapter 170
Gavin has a thing about cleanliness. I didn’t dare use his things without permission.
Stepping out of the tub, I went to the door and opened it a crack. “Gavin, do you have any extra towels? If not, can you go to my place and get
one for me?”
“Use mine.”
Gavin’s voice was flat but held a rough edge as he walked over. He handed a nightgown through the crack in the door. “Wear this.”
“Oh. Okay,”
I closed the door. I hadn’t thought much of it at first, but as I dried off, I caught the familiar scent of cedar and vetiver. A strange feeling instantly spread through my chest.
was using my big brother’s towel.
I looked down at the towel in my hands, trying to calm my racing heart, but I couldn’t ignore the fact.
This towel belonged to the man I’d called big brother for nine whole years.
The sense of taboo I’d been trying so hard to ignore finally crashed over me.
I don’t know how long it took me to pull myself together. I put on the nightgown and went out.
I didn’t bother dwelling on the fact that, aside from the shirt, I had nothing on underneath.
It’s not like it would stay on anyway.
