Betrayed I Upgraded to His Billionaire Brother novel Chapter 206

**TITLE: Pushing the Edge 206**

“I do… I want to sleep.”

I never anticipated this moment, especially after I had steeled myself for what was to come. The unexpected interruption from Gavin, calling for a time-out right in the middle of everything, caught me completely off guard.

**Third-person POV**

As Gavin held her gently in his arms, he couldn’t shake off the unsettling feeling that churned within him, a restlessness that seemed to grow with each passing moment.

But now was not the time to dwell on it.

This was not the right moment.

The following morning, Gavin was jolted awake, a sudden kick to his side rousing him from his slumber.

His eyes flew open, revealing sharp blue irises that were alert and filled with a fierce intensity—until he realized the culprit behind the rude awakening was the very person who lay peacefully beside him.

In an instant, his expression softened, replaced by a look of tender indulgence.

With a long, deliberate stretch, Gavin reached out, his arm extending to retrieve his phone from the nightstand. He glanced at the screen to check the time, and without flicking on the light, he slipped quietly out of bed and made his way to the bathroom, preparing for the day ahead in the dimness of early morning.

Neil had arrived early, an eager anticipation driving him to the office. However, he was taken aback to see his boss striding out of the apartment building well ahead of schedule.

They were supposed to leave at 6:30 a.m., and yet, it wasn’t even 6:00 yet.

Quickly, Neil exited the car and opened the rear passenger door for Gavin, who slid inside with an air of purpose. Unable to contain his curiosity, Neil ventured, “Boss, why are we leaving so early?”

With one hand deftly fastening the button of his suit jacket, Gavin raised an eyebrow slightly, a smirk playing on his lips. “She’s a restless sleeper.”

She woke me up.

The driver, lacking any sense of subtlety, piped up with a suggestion that made Neil cringe. “Boss, maybe you could find a moment to mention it to the young lady? Or perhaps consider sleeping in separate beds at night?”

Neil rolled his eyes so dramatically that he nearly felt dizzy.

What a moron.

Couldn’t he hear the warmth in Gavin’s voice?

Sleep in separate beds? Gavin would rather face a war than separate from her at night.

As they made their way toward the airport, Gavin, noticing the time was just right, decided to make a call.

Even before the sun had begun to peek over the horizon, Eleanor answered promptly.

Her voice was a mix of curiosity and gentle reproach. “I thought you had a girlfriend now? Why are you calling me at this hour?”

Gavin chuckled softly, the sound light and teasing. “Can’t I call you just because I have a girlfriend?”

Eleanor’s concern was palpable through the phone. “It’s not that you can’t call me. It’s that you shouldn’t risk waking the girl up at this hour! What if she thinks you’re inconsiderate and decides to dump you?”

Gavin pinched the bridge of his nose, a sigh escaping his lips. “You think I’m scared I’ll end up single?”

“Absolutely!” Eleanor exclaimed, her voice filled with mock seriousness. “Now spill it. What’s going on?”
