Gavin didn’t slow his pace, his long legs eating up the ground with an effortless, almost predatory grace that was both mesmerizing and terrifying “If anyone dares to slap her around like that again, I guarantee Theodore will be the next one chumming the waters.”

“Since when can a brain like yours comprehend how his works?” Margaret smiled coldly. “Look at his status and power now. If he’s in the mood to protect the girl, isn’t that his prerogative?”

“But he can’t disrespect you like this…”

“Look at who New York is named after these days!”

She wondered if Gavin could maintain this arrogance forever.
