Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 338

By the time the statement was complete, it was nearly ten in the morning.

Ryan's two officers were trusted colleagues. He asked them to wait outside for a moment, as he had a few things to discuss with Willow privately.

"Zoe was adopted at ages five, seven, and thirteen," Ryan began, sharing some of the information he had uncovered overnight. "Are you certain you've never crossed paths with her before?"

"Positive," Willow said, shaking her head firmly. Her memory was excellent; if she had ever met Zoe, she would have at least a faint recollection.

Ryan nodded, his sharp brow furrowed in thought. "Zoe was adopted and abandoned multiple times before eventually reverting to her birth name. Experiences like that could easily lead to a twisted personality."

"But from what you're suggesting, you believe Beasley is the one pulling the strings. So far, I haven't found any connection between them."

Willow wasn't surprised that Ryan hadn't found anything in such a short time. She herself had spent three or four months investigating and had come up with nothing linking Zoe to Beasley—not through financial aid, not through bank records.

But she was certain someone was backing Zoe. While Zoe pretended to be a simple student working part-time jobs, she always had large amounts of cash on hand. Willow had someone tail her for a while but never saw her receive money from anyone. Perhaps the surveillance period wasn't long enough, and Zoe hadn't run out of cash yet. Or perhaps there was a mysterious middleman between Beasley and Zoe.

If it was the latter, who could it be? Could it be Heller, the man who had fled to Myridia?

"Check for a connection between Heller and Beasley," Willow said in a low voice.

"Okay," Ryan agreed. He was thinking the same thing. "I'll get on it as soon as I'm back at the station."

"Thank you for everything," Willow said, her voice filled with gratitude.
