Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 468

Donovan merely glared at Giselle after her tirade.

"Be honest with me. Did you sleep with that woman?" she asked him solemnly.

He didn't respond immediately, only fixed her with an icy stare.

"Tell me!" she snapped, her fury trembling on the edge of desperation. "Tell me you didn't, and I'll get you out—even if I have to blow this place apart!"

"I did," he muttered casually.

Her heart plummeted at his answer. Refusing to believe it, she pressed on. "Are you certain you had sex with her?"

Donovan didn't bother to reply. Ignoring the anguish clouding her face, he ended the call with a click and turned away without hesitation.

The warden officers closed in around him as he walked back inside, his figure cold and unyielding.

Giselle sat frozen, staring after him through the glass until his back disappeared from view. For a long moment, her mind went utterly blank.

It wasn't the first time they had parted in bitterness.

With their marriage already failing, he had no reason to be faithful. She wondered if this was his way of getting even.

A chill spread through Giselle's body as her thoughts spiraled. She sat rigid until an officer gently reminded her to leave. At last, she pushed herself up and walked out.

In the car, the lawyer beside her began outlining the weaknesses in the evidence and the possible arguments for the defense in Edevanian. However, his words barely reached her.

Numbness settled over her. Her body felt drained, her mind drowning in the bleak certainty of Donovan's betrayal—an undertow she couldn't escape.
