Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 480

After the press conference, Lauren stepped out of the backstage area in a daze and quietly left with her family.

Just as Giselle felt the press conference had served its purpose and she was about to return to her residence, a female reporter suddenly blocked her path. Holding a microphone, the reporter smiled and asked, "If I'm not mistaken, you are Donovan's wife, Ms. Giselle Holt, correct?"

Giselle had never dealt with the media before. She didn't recognize the reporter and had no idea how she even knew that Giselle was Donovan's wife. She asked in return, "Do you need something from me?"

The reporter's smile carried a sharp edge. "Since you are Mr. Kane's wife and personally attended the press conference, you must have heard about his relationship with Ms. Evans. How do you feel about your husband's infidelity? Do you plan to forgive him?"

At this pointed and sensational question, the other reporters immediately sensed an opportunity for traffic. They swarmed around Giselle with microphones, all eager to hear her reaction.

Giselle and Donovan had never held a wedding or made their marriage public. Their relationship had always been somewhat private. At first, the media assumed Donovan was single and focused on whether he had assaulted any woman.

Now that the assault scandal had been cleared, the first reporter's question shifted attention to his supposed infidelity. The reporters crowded around Giselle, pressing her for a comment.

Giselle took a deep breath. She forced a composed smile and gracefully said, "I'm sorry that Mr. Kane's misunderstanding has taken up so much public attention, but since you've asked, I will clarify. Mr. Kane and I peacefully divorced earlier this year. After that, we both hoped the other could find someone suitable, and we've stayed on friendly terms.

"Yeah," Ethan nodded. "The media just loves to make things up. With the internet being what it is, if they had pinned a cheating scandal on Don, it would have turned into endless gossip online. It's exhausting."

Giselle understood the stakes better than anyone.

Although Donovan was not a public celebrity, he was a major figure in the business world. Any hint of infidelity would spark public speculation, disrupt his life, and even affect the reputation of Kane Group.
