Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 487

Seeing how determined Giselle was to leave, with not a trace of remorse, and the way she looked at him as if he were an enemy, something inside Donovan snapped.

"Get out!" he shouted, suddenly letting go and shoving her onto the bed.

Fury took over as he continued, "Get as far away from me as you can! Don't you ever show your face here again! Out!"

Giselle's mind went blank, and a wave of dizziness hit her. She forced herself upright, ignoring her luggage entirely. "I'm leaving everything here. If my clothes or things are in the way, burn them. Goodbye!"

Just as she stumbled out of the bedroom, ready to rush downstairs, she remembered her dog was still inside. Without a second thought, she dashed up to the second-floor pet room and scooped Kali into her arms.

Kali had grown from a tiny puppy into a lively, energetic dog. She was a mixed breed with a fierce yet loyal temperament. The housekeeper cared for her, giving her a life more comfortable than most people. She had perfectly taken the place once held by Eastin.

Giselle clutched Kali along with her phone and car keys and hurried down the stairs in a daze.

Just as she reached the door, Dorothea appeared.

Giselle froze for a moment, then offered a lukewarm greeting. "Mrs. Kane," she said.

Before Dorothea could respond, Giselle started heading toward the garage.

"What are you doing?" Dorothea said, instantly sensing that something was wrong.

Giselle didn't have her usual spark.

"Is Don home?" she asked casually.

Giselle didn't want to waste time explaining and started heading toward the garage.

"Wait!" Dorothea called out. "Why are you running off before saying anything? Isn't Don's case already settled? Everything's fine now! What are you trying to pull here?"

Giselle let out a cold laugh. "Mrs. Kane, you can rest assured. Don and I divorced peacefully. It won't have any negative impact on the Kane family."

"Who gave you permission to divorce?" Dorothea demanded.

She already knew that Donovan's swift return had been entirely thanks to Giselle. Over the past few days, her opinion of her had changed significantly.

She firmly said, "Do you think marriage is a game? Do you think the Kane family's doors are yours to enter and leave at will? I'm warning you—the Kane family has already had enough trouble. Don't go looking for more!"
