Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 494

"Giselle!" Gideon screamed her name out loud at the terrifying sight, but all he could do was watch her fall into the valley.

After hearing a loud thud, Gideon felt as though his heart had stopped beating. His mind went blank.

"No! That didn't happen. No…" he mumbled to himself.

Filled with despair, he urgently secured himself to the rope, but his hands and legs were trembling so badly that it was hard for him to hold onto anything. Fear engulfed him.

When he finally set up the mechanism to climb down, he did it as fast as possible without any concern for himself. He continued descending, even if he had scraped his skin or bumped into rocks in the middle of it.

If he could, he would abandon the rope and jump down to check on Giselle right away.

Once he was at the foot of the mountain, he scrambled toward the location of Giselle's fall, all while calling 911 for medical help and police attention.

When he was done, he noticed Giselle's orange attire in the midst of the vegetation and rocks at the foot of the mountain.

It took him a great deal of effort to make his way over, as the ground was uneven and pathless.

He lunged up to Giselle, who laid in the crack between the rocks like a ragdoll. She was completely motionless and unconscious. Blood oozed from her mouth and nose as a shocking pool of blood spread beneath her.

"Giselle! Giselle!" He scrambled to her side and let out a ragged, heart-breaking cry. "Giselle Holt! Wake up! Come on, wake up! Giselle!"

He immediately tried to lift her, but he had no idea how badly injured she was. Maybe she was shattered all over. Moving her carelessly would only make things worse.

Or had she already died?

The 10-minute anxious wait felt like forever.

Finally, he heard the siren of the ambulance and the police car.

A few first responders carried some medical gear over to perform first aid on Giselle. Then, they carefully moved her onto the stretcher and carried her out of the foot of the mountain with great difficulty.

Gideon didn't have the courage to ask the doctor about Giselle's condition. Like a zombie, he numbly followed them into the ambulance and arrived at the nearest hospital.

After Giselle was wheeled into the emergency operating room, Gideon was subjected to yet another long, torturous wait outside the room.

Ethan's call came in at that time.
