Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 524

"I will never agree to withdrawing the lawsuit! Ever since the engagement had been called off, this woman has been getting more and more brazen by the day!

"I can let the other matters slide, but I can't let her get away with ruining your name and dragging our family's reputation through the mud like this. We can't withdraw the lawsuit no matter what!" Ethan exclaimed.

He continued furiously, "It's fine if she were to give birth to the baby in her womb. We'll just get a paternity test to determine if it's actually Zach's child. If it is his, we'll bring it back and raise it ourselves. However, as we're doing so, we'll also continue to pursue legal action against her!"

Donovan still looked unfazed. Quietly staring out of the window, he said emotionlessly, "Everything's in the past now. I don't want to waste any more time on this insignificant woman.

"If you want to continue pursuing this matter, feel free to do as you see fit. I, on the other hand, no longer have the energy to dwell on it any further."

Ethan fell silent. Donovan's calm and forgiving demeanor made him feel slightly puzzled.

"Alright then," he replied.

Since Donovan was unfazed, he didn't think it was necessary for him to get so worked up about the matter either.

"I'll ask my lawyers for a follow-up so we can figure out a way to move forward with this lawsuit," he concluded in a forced manner.

Donovan didn't respond, but he had a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Five days later, Zachary was back at his villa.

"Do you know how many times I called you, Zachary? Why didn't you pick up any of my calls? I didn't hear from you in so long I thought you'd died. Have you finally decided to meet with me?" Anne barked.

She couldn't stop herself from berating Zachary as soon as she saw him lounging on the couch.

"Why did you prepare such a huge spread of food?" She glanced at some of the fancy dishes and declared, "Now that I'm pregnant, I don't have much of an appetite. I can't really bring myself to eat anything."

"Just try some."

Zachary sat down and quietly poured her a small bowl of chicken soup. Then, he said in a caring way, "This soup has a relatively mild taste. I instructed the housekeepers to keep the flavours light so it'd be easier for a pregnant woman to eat."

Anne had never seen him act so thoughtfully before. His actions, coupled with the mention of the words "pregnant woman", left her feeling slightly touched.

Although she didn't have an appetite, she still took a few sips of the soup he poured her. While she was drinking her soup, she stared at him suggestively and asked, "Have you brought up our engagement plans with your parents yet, Zach?"

"I casually brought it up in passing."
