Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 526

Since you've already taken the medication, you've definitely had a miscarriage," the doctor told Anne apologetically. "You should notice some vaginal bleeding in a few hours. The bleeding indicates that the gestational sac has been expelled from the uterus."

"No!" Anne screamed.

Upon hearing what the doctor had just said, she felt as though she was about to go insane.

She kept trying to figure out what had happened. After some thought, she finally recalled that her abdominal pain started after she drank the soup at Zachary's villa.

Zachary was the one behind her miscarriage!

Anne was devastated. Ignoring the medical staff's protests, she got out of bed and dashed out of the room.

She'd wanted to confront Zachary, but he'd already left after seeing that her condition was stable.

She couldn't believe that Zachary would do something so cruel. Overwhelmed with emotion, she abruptly let out a high-pitched scream.

Soon, Renee received word of what had happened and rushed to the hospital.

"What on earth happened?" she asked anxiously as she walked into the hospital room. "The doctors told me you took an abortion pill and suffered a miscarriage. How did that happen?"

Anne, who was lying on the hospital bed with an ashen face, croaked, "It's Zachary, Mom. He invited me over for lunch and laced my food with an abortion drug. I can't believe he'd kill his own child!"

Renee was shocked. She couldn't believe her ears.

"Zachary? Are you sure that he's the one who did this?" she followed up nervously.

"He's the one who asked his housekeepers to make me chicken soup. He even served me a bowl of it himself! Who else could it be—the housekeeper?" Anne snapped.

After being released from the local police station, Zachary headed straight to Donovan's home instead of returning to Kane Manor.

"No," Donovan replied.

Leaning against the leather chair in his study, Donovan was going through some emails on his laptop. Without looking up, he added absentmindedly, "I'll deal with all of the consequences. Just cut off all contact with that woman from this point onward."

"Okay."

Upon thinking about how he could've killed his own child, Zachary felt slightly guilty about the entire situation.

The abortion medication was taken from the research laboratory of Donovan's own company. Donovan himself had added the medication to the chicken soup that the housekeepers had prepared. All Zachary needed to do was invite Anne over and serve her a bowl of the soup.

On top of that, Zachary's so-called genetic test report was also something he'd asked a private doctor to fabricate. As of now, everything was proceeding according to his plan. He had everything under his control.
