Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 527

"Do you feel upset about it?" Donovan asked Zachary emotionlessly.

"No," the latter replied as he shook his head. "What is there to be upset about? It hadn't even developed into a fetus yet. Besides, it might not even belong to me."

Zachary continued, "Don't worry, Uncle Don. That woman means nothing to me now. I'll always be on your side from now on."

Donovan hummed in response. Even after committing such a cruel act, he didn't feel guilty or remorseful about it at all. He would never allow a future child of the Kane family to have a mother like Anne Holt.

Moreover, Zachary had his whole life ahead of him. Donovan refused to let Anne ruin his future.

Spinning around in his leather chair, Donovan turned to face the other side before saying, "You don't need to concern yourself with anything related to Anne anymore. Just go on a vacation overseas and come back when you feel like you've had enough fun."

Zachary didn't know what Donovan was up to, but he believed that he wouldn't harm him. So, he quickly relaxed and replied, "Sure, Uncle Don. I'll leave it to you to tie up the loose ends then. I'm planning to head to Usna tomorrow!"

After undergoing a medical abortion and a D&E surgery, Anne's body was so weak that she was currently bedridden.

Due to how angry she felt, she'd already knocked over three of the nutritious soups that the housekeepers had brought to her in a fit of rage.

While the housekeeper was mopping the floor, Renee, who'd overheard the commotion, dropped by Anne's room to check on her.

Upon seeing how much pain her daughter had endured, Renee felt extremely heartbroken. Anne looked incredibly thin, and her eyes were puffy and bloodshot as well.

As the only daughter she had left, all her hopes rested on Anne. So, naturally, she couldn't bear to see her suffer in any way.

"Now that it has come to this, I think it's best if you calm down and pull yourself back together. Throwing a fit won't help, and it won't aid your recovery either," said Renee.

Feeling resigned, Renee sighed. "Even if he'd orchestrated this entire thing, there's nothing we can do about it. After all, you're the one who provoked him in the first place.

"Besides, you were pregnant with Zachary Kane's baby. Since the Kanes don't want the baby, the police can only classify this as nothing more than a family dispute. You won't be able to establish a case, so you don't need to waste your time on this."

Anne slumped listlessly against her headboard. The more she thought about the matter, the angrier she got. She didn't think Donovan would be so cruel and heartless.

"What do we do now, Mom? Now that I'm no longer pregnant, will the Kanes continue to file a lawsuit against me and throw me into prison?

"I don't want to spend a second in that hellish place! I just suffered a miscarriage. They can't be that heartless, right?"

Renee fell silent. After a moment of contemplation, she said, "What you did to Donovan really crossed the line. I don't think the Kanes would be willing to let the matter slide."

In a calm and collected tone, Renee continued, "You need to lie low for a while. Now that you've just got out of surgery and are still able to move about freely, I'll arrange for you to leave the country as soon as possible!"
