Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 528

"Leave the country?" Anne instantly calmed down. "Where should I go then? I'm worried that Donovan might still sue me even if I were to leave the country. What if the police travel all the way overseas just to arrest me?"

"It's not that serious," Renee said confidently. "I don't think the Kanes would be so ruthless. Right now, you just need to lie low until this blows over."

She continued, "Just stay out of the country for a year or two. You can think about coming back when the Kanes have more or less moved past the matter, and Donovan no longer wishes to pursue it.

After giving Renee's suggestion some thought, Anne replied, "That works. I don't think I'll go to Usna or any Auraelian country, though. The Kane family has branch offices in all of those places, so there's a chance I might run into them if I do. I think I should go to a country that's smaller and more remote."

Renee was on board with the idea.

"Perfect. I'm planning to expand into the Suntaran market soon. You should head over there first. While you're at it, you could help me keep an eye on the new factory as well."

"I'm heading over there to wait for everything to blow over, Mom. I won't have time to help you with work. The entire trip would be pointless if a random employee were to expose my whereabouts to the world."

Renee paused. "Alright then. You can move somewhere else in the future if you ever get bored with the place. But for now, you should just stay there."

"It's been decided then." Not wanting to stay in the country any longer, Anne instructed, "Get me a flight ticket immediately, Mom. Make sure you buy the ticket yourself instead of asking your secretary to do it for you."

She added, "I don't want anyone to know about my whereabouts. In fact, I'd like to leave tonight!"

"Tonight? Don't be so rash, Anne. You should at least wait until your body recovers before you travel."

"How long is that going to take? What if Donovan asks the police to arrest me tomorrow? I'm so annoyed—I can't wait any longer!"

When she thought about how Donovan had unhesitatingly laced her food with an abortion drug, she couldn't shake the feeling that he wouldn't let her off the hook so easily.

At the moment, fleeing the country immediately was the best option she had.

She continued bluntly, "My father is one of the world's best neurosurgeons. He might not make as much money as you, but his social standing is a lot higher than yours. Don't hand him over to some other vixen like a fool, Mom!

"You're both getting on in years. So, you should just settle for what you have. Once everything blows over and the Kanes no longer have a grudge against me, I'm planning to focus on someone new. If I were to get married in the future, your divorce would only make it more difficult for me to do so!"

Renee thought Anne had a point. Hence, she stopped bringing Tony up and began browsing plane tickets instead.

Now that Anne was moving abroad for a while, she couldn't help but ask, "How are things going with Vivienne, Mom? She hasn't gotten an abortion, has she?"

"Yeah," Renee replied.

Her heart ached as she recalled her late son, Sebastian.

"Vivienne has decided to keep the baby. She's four months into her pregnancy now. So far, everything's been going smoothly."
