Lia
When I spotted the house at the end of the drive way I froze. I couldn’t believe we had finally come back home after being away for weeks. It was crazy.
I had learned a lot from the coven, being given mini-lessons before I left. I needed to be able to control this new power I had and train.
Being told that I had to come back home and train, caused me to inwardly groan. I didn’t want to train. But I knew I had too. It was important for me to be able to master these new powers.
What did destiny want with me? So many times I laid in bed next to my mates at the hotel, trying to figure out what the hell destiny wanted with me. I wish I knew but the more I tried to think about it, the less I understood.
But now I was back home.
Gabi and Michael were out there to greet us. They pulled us into a hug, telling us they were glad we were home.
I had told them everything along the way so they were aware of what was going on. Gabi had seemed in shock when I first told her. Michael denied it was true because he was wondering why it was just happening to me rather than him.
This was a question I had even asked the witches. They said that women especially had a special connection to magic and being that my ancestor was a woman, it made sense I had a stronger connection.
It seemed like a plausible explanation, but at this point I didn’t have anything else to go on.
I remember the first time I walked inside my room. It was great to be home but I nearly started crying. How could I just go on like everything was okay?
Nothing was going to be okay!
Dragons were going to be waking up and I was expected to fight them? I couldn’t imagine what the hell we were going to do when they finally woke up.
But one thing was for sure: we needed to reach out to other species. These associations needed to get their asses in gear.
Once I was home, though, the training started. We left school and rugby, trying to focus on training. Then, the first time I trained, I remembered having a vision.
It was the first of many.
It was visions of dragons destroying things, killing people, and ending everything we loved. I almost couldn’t wrap my mind around it.
When I told my mates, they assured me that they believed every word of what I was saying. The four of them knew I was telling the truth. But what was going to happen if I couldn’t get the associations to believe me?
But Colby said he was going to take care of that. He was going to contact the werewolf association while I talked with the witch association. Hopefully together, we could figure this out.

Colby
The phone rang twice before someone at the Werewolf Association finally picked up. I could practically hear the boredom in the guy’s voice as he answered.
“Werewolf Association. How can I help you?”
I grinned, leaning back against the chair. “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe by pulling your heads out of your asses and realizing what’s coming?”
There was a pause. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” I said, barely containing my laughter. “Or are you still too busy twiddling your thumbs and sitting on your ass, pretending like nothing’s wrong?”
“Sir, if you have a legitimate issue-“
“Oh, I have an issue, all right,” I cut in. “How about the fact that the ancient dragon is waking up? Yeah, you heard that right. It’s not just a rumor anymore. It’s happening. And guess what? You can’t keep ignoring it.”
The silence on the other end of the line stretched for a few seconds before the guy finally spoke, his tone more cautious now. ” That’s a serious claim. Where are you getting this information?”
I shrugged. “Yeah I did but I needed to make sure they take me seriously, Matt.”
Matt gave me a long, unimpressed look. “Right. Because exaggeration is the best way to make people take you seriously.” Rain grinned, nudging him again. “Come on, man. At least admit it was entertaining.”
Matt let out a heavy sigh, glancing at me like I was some lost cause. “Fine. Maybe it was mildly impressive.” I smirked. “Mildly? I’ll take it.”
Jesse clapped a hand on my shoulder. “Dude, don’t sell yourself short. That was expert-level bullshit.”
I pointed at him. “Thank you, Jesse. Finally, some respect.”
But when no one was looking, Matt came up beside me and clapped his hand against my shoulder firmly. Then he flashed me a grin and gave me a wink, making me snort in amusement.
He was proud of me. Hell, I was proud of me.
It wasn’t something I often said about myself because I didn’t want to get cocky. Being cocky wasn’t a good trait in a leader. It could lead to nothing but trouble, and I wanted to make sure I kept my pack safe. They did name me the pack leader for a reason, after all.
I needed to give them a piece of my mind. They couldn’t think that they were going to be getting away with doing nothing.
I hoped Lia was having luck with the witches’ association. Rain had already spoken with the vampire association, but they were already on board! They had been on our side the entire time, aware that dragon shifters were coming up from the underground and making themselves known.
It was stressful, but I can only imagine what Lia was going through with these visions of her. Imagine having visions out of nowhere and not being able to turn them off. I would be horrified, but she was handling it as best she could.
We all loved her so much. I loved her so much, and I was going to do whatever it took to make sure she was protected throughout all of this.
