Burn Me Once Burn With Me (Ruby Grayson) novel Chapter 516

“That’s still a rip-off! I mean, I’m a world-class hacker and an internationally renowned concert pianist, and you expect me to work this hard for you—for just a booklet? Come on… Wait, hold on.”

Hayley was in full-on wisecracking mode, basking in her own self-praise, when her cheerful eyes suddenly went wide as she flipped to the first page.

“Wait… Is this the missing ending of the ‘Flourish Symphony’?”

She stared, then started flipping frantically through the pages until she reached the last one.

She counted—fifteen pages, exactly—and the final page was, without a doubt, the conclusion.

Gawking, she shot her head up, looking at Ruby as if she’d just been handed a miracle by a benevolent genie. “How did you even get this? Don’t tell me you gave me a fake?”

Ruby couldn’t help but smirk at Hayley’s stunned look and incredulous words. “Of course it’s not fake. I snagged it from my granddad’s collection.”

At that moment, Landon wandered by, munching on a bag of potato chips. He was still wearing the cartoon-print pajamas Ruby had bought him, his golden hair an absolute mess, hanging over most of his face except his mouth.

Hayley: “?”

She whipped her head around to Ruby, her eyes full of horror and a silent accusation—so this is the real you, Ruby?

Ruby watched Hayley’s over-the-top reaction and felt a headache coming on.

“Oh, I see how it is. Hiding your secret crush at home,” Hayley gasped dramatically, moving closer to Landon and reaching out to brush the hair from his face so she could finally get a proper look at him.

Ruby could only rub her forehead in exasperation.

Hayley was never one to hesitate. With a quick sweep of her hand, she pushed Landon’s hair aside—and immediately stumbled backward in shock. “Landon!”

She nearly vaulted into the ceiling.

Ruby could only sigh at the theatrics, but she didn’t intervene, instead reaching for little Mira and covering the girl’s ears.

“What are you doing here? Since when did you two get so close?” Hayley’s eyes were practically popping out of her head. The world had clearly gone mad.

“I ran into Rue in Quinborough. Decided to tag along,” Landon answered simply, blinking at her with wide eyes.
