“Come, I will help you to wash your hair,” Killian said to Jasmine, as he helped her to get to the water. They
found a river near the small town.
And because Killian’s face and Gerald’s had been known by many people, thus they couldn’t get to the village.
For everything they needed, they would send someone to get it from the village. Therefore, they had to make
do with this river.
“Careful,” Killian said, as he guided Jasmine down to the river and started to wash her. She didn’t say anything.
There was time when she only stared at the distance, but other time, she would be sober enough to have a conversation with him.
However, Jasmine would be often to have a mental breakdown. She would remember her brother and then asked Killian to take her back. She would beg him to see where he had buried Adrian.
‘We should have a funeral for him,‘ she would say.
But of course, all of them knew they wouldn’t be able to do that, not when they were fugitive, and some of them also knew that Killian left Adrian’s body behind without burying him, because of the urgency of the situation.
Thankfully, those people said nothing.
“I don’t feel good,” Jasmine said, as she stared down at her hand, while Killian washed her hair. “I feel sick…”
Jasmine had been having a morning sickness, butte thing was… She often forgot that she was pregnant, and Killian couldn’t remind her because it would trigger a bad reaction from her.
She would remember that the baby was Gerald’s and not his, that was why she would be hysterical. The real problem lay with the fact that nobody knew that the baby was not Killian’s.
All of them assumed Jasmine was pregnant with his child.
“It’s okay, my mother is in the village. I have asked her to buy something for you. You will get better soon.”
Jasmine continued staring at her fingers, she was naked, but she seemed not to care. And when Killian was done cleaning her up, he took her to the river bank and dried her body.
Afterwards, Killian dressed her in clean clothes.
“Killian,” Jasmine called him softly, as she watched him tied her shoelaces. She stretched out her hand and touched his cheek, which made him stop what he was doing.
“What is it?” Killian lifted his head and looked at Jasmine’s pale face. The hard pregnancy and her grief had taken a huge toll on her.
“I love you, Killian,” Jasmine said. “I love you and I am sorry that I have been causing trouble for you.”
For a moment, Killian didn’t know how to respond to that, but Jasmine continued with her honest confessic
you.
“I love I have been loving you since we were little. You may not notice this. You may not care, or remember that we have met before, but I always remember you and I always want you. Thank you for being my mate. Thank you for staying by my side. Thank you for everything that you have to go through because
me.”
Killian furrowed his brows, he felt this uncomfortable feeling deep in his chest. His throat was dry and his chest caved in upon hearing what Jasmine said.
No one had ever told him how much they loved him. Not even his mother had even thanked him for everything he had done.
“I love you, Killian. Thank you for being my mate. I am happy.” Jasmine leaned over to rest her head against his chest and wrapped her arms around his body.
Killian didn’t have any reaction before he hugged her back. He caressed her hair and she snuggled against him.
There was this complicated feeling that crept in, but Killian didn’t want to linger on it for long.
“Let’s go back, the other warrior and my mother must have returned from the village. Let’s see if she finds something useful for your sickness.”
Killian pushed Jasmine away slightly and then stood up, he grabbed her hand instead and both of them walked towards the other warriors.
Gerald had been waiting for them, and Jasmine moved closer towards Killian, she flinched every time she say
him.
However, that was not Killian’s main focus, because at this moment, there was a small commotion among the
other warrior.
“Look, who is your mother brought back!” Gerald snapped, he looked angry, but he was trying to keep his voice low, so no one would hear him.
“Who?” Killian walked faster and Jasmine had to jog beside him.
Someone was here. Killian sniffed the air and immediately knew who it was even before he could see her. She was the cause of the commotion.
“You shouldn’t have brought her back. We don’t know her,” One of the warriors from the Bloody Wolf pack protested.
“She is my daughter!” Elena screamed at him.
“Oh, I know her. She is your runaway daughter, right?” The other warriors chimed in.
“Claire?” Alpha Winter came over as well.
He had been very quiet ever since their last attempt to take down the king had failed. He had faded away to the background, to the point Killian didn’t even care about him anymore.
“Claire? Is that really you?” Alpha Winter hastened his steps, and then when he was close enough, he raised his hand and slapped Claire hard on the cheek. She stumbled back.
Killian was stunned, he stopped walking over, while Jasmine flinched, as if she was the one, who was being slapped.
“Because of you! Because of you Caden turned out like that! You left him for another man! And now you have the audacity to show your face here?!” Alpha Winter looked down and saw that Claire was heavily pregnant. “And now you are pregnant with that man’s child?!”
“Stop it! Stop it!” Elena pushed alpha Winter to the side and screamed at Killian to help her. “Killian! Do something!”
However, Killian sensed something was wrong…
