Chapter 22

35 v

Rania ate her breakfast, but she didn’t finish it. The look of the food was very delicious, but she didn’t think she could stomach it.

And an hour later, someone came to pick up her dirty dishes, they retreated quietly without saying anything, leaving her alone.

It was so weird for Rania to be alone on her own, without anyone yelling at her to do something. It had been a very long time, since she was left alone on her own, and she liked this quietness, even though, she didn’t know what to do with her time.

Rania wanted to clean up the place, just to kill the time, but she didn’t have the right tools, and she didn’t want to go out there. Declan had made sure for her not to make an appearance very often.

She had tidied up the bed, and took a bath, trying the bath up, and blissfully dipped herself into the warm water, until her skin

wrinkled.

And after that, she stayed in the second section of the room, where there were a lot of books. She chose one of them, and perused it until it was lunch time.

With how many books were there, she was grateful, at the very least, it would be a long time before she was running out of something to read. This newly found freedom was… thrilling.

She didn’t sit on the armchair, that looked very expensive, for some reason, Rania felt dirty. No matter how long she took a bath, no matter how long she dipped herself in the bath up, the feeling didn’t go away.

And the armchair was too nice for someone like her.

Rania didn’t know when her self confidence tanked, and how low she looked at herself now, but she couldn’t help it. A year of being Caden’s plaything, and listening how he degraded herself had taken a toll on her mental.

Around noon, when someone knocked on the door, Rania thought, it was one of the omegas, who brought her lunch, but when she opened it, that young woman didn’t bring anything.

“Yes?” Rania asked absentmindedly when she smiled at her.

“My lady, the king asked you to come for lunch together.”

“Lunch Together?” Rania was dumbstruck, she was a little bit apprehensive when she heard this. Suddenly, she felt this familiar sensation, where her throat was dry, as if she just ate sands.

Yes, the king is waiting for you in the dining room. Once you are ready, I will take you there,” the omega said, she was smiling, and Rania could see the dimple on her cheeks.

For a moment. Rania was hesitated. She remembered what Declan said, but then it was the king, who had requested to meet with her.

The omega blinked her eyes. “Are we ready to go, my lady? Or do you want to change your outfit first?” She asked without any another meaning

Rania was embarrassed to see how simple her outfit was; a black shirt and jeans, but she didn’t have anything better than this.

on her, since she had been surrounded by people who hated her, and degraded in every way possible, just because she didn’t have wolf.

They said she was a bad luck.

“Over here, my lady,” she said.

They finally arrived at a double door that was made of black oak wood with intricated crafting on the surface of it. It was very beautiful and exquisite. The door was so big, and when a warrior pushed it opened, it gave a soft creak.

Inside the room, she heard soft conversation between two people, and she recognized one of the voices. Her legs didn’t want to cooperate with her.

“Get inside, my lady, the king is waiting for you,” Kean said encouragingly when she saw Rania became slightly pale. “Don’t let the king wait for long.” She was a little bit anxious, since it wouldn’t be a good sign for the king to be in a bad mood, and he had had a temper this morning.

Whenever the king was not in a good mood, all of the warriors, and omega would be tensed up. Suddenly, the atmosphere in the palace would turn heavier. Therefore, it was common for them to start the day with the question of the king’s mood.

“My lady?” Kean looked at Rania worriedly because she didn’t say anything, neither she moved. She exchanged glance with the warrior, who completely didn’t have any idea what happened.

“Yes…” Rania gulped down with difficulty, as she forced herself to step inside the room. Her heart was hammering against her chest. She was scared. Even the sight of the king worsened her fear.

And when she was inside the dining room, the conversation died down.
